Wow, Week 9 in the Big Ten is in the books. Time flies as we head down the stretch in conference play. The conference has five teams ranked in the top 25. Ohio State, Michigan State and Iowa are all ranked in the top 10 and all remained undefeated last week. Iowa beat Maryland 31-15 and both the Buckeyes and Spartans were idle.

College Football Odds at BookMaker.eu - BIG 10 GAMES OF THE WEEK

Saturday, November 7, 2015

Minnesota Gophers +23

Ohio State Buckeyes -23

Over/Under 52

Ohio Stadium, Columbus, Ohio - 8:00 p.m., ET - ABC

With the one-game suspension of Ohio State redshirt sophomore quarterback J.T. Barrett following a last Saturday morning drunk-driving citation, the door has opened for redshirt junior Cardale Jones to come off the bench and lead the offense. Still, OSU coach Urban Meyer said he has complete faith in Jones.

“Cardale had a great week of practice last week, he’s engaged, he handled everything like a man,” Meyer said. “He threw for 300 yards a couple weeks ago at a 75 percent clip. He’s 10-0 as a starter. That’s not even a hesitation.”

The Gophers are in for a tough week. Playing on the road against a fired up Cardale Jones, good luck with that. Ohio State starts out slow, but finishes strong and wins, 42-20.

Penn State Nittany Lions +3

Northwestern Wildcats -3

Over/Under 40

Jack Ryan Stadium, Evanston, Illinois - ESPNU

These teams could play five quarters and not go over 40 points. Both teams will play it close to the vest by running the ball and playing the field position game. This is a classic Big Ten matchup where the final score will be something like 17-10 or 20-14. The UNDER is the play!

Iowa Hawkeyes -7

Indiana Hoosiers +7

Over/Under 60.5

1:00 p.m., ET - ESPN

Iowa is rolling along undefeated and ranked No. 10 in the nation and everything is rosey in Iowa City. The fans are all excited and are already predicting a 12-0 record and a trip to the Big Ten Championship game. I’ve seen this happen over the years and as high as the fans get, they get just as low when they lose and this is the game that will ruin their season and disappoint the Iowa faithful. Indiana pulls the biggest upset of the year and hands Iowa their first loss of the year. Hoosiers win 35 - 31.

Rutgers Scarlet Knights +25

Michigan Wolverines -25

Over/Under 52

3:30 p.m., ET - BTN

Rutgers seems to give up 40 or 50 points to everyone they play and this week is no different. Michigan will roll up the yards and points and limit Rutgers to just 14 points. Michigan rolls 42-14.

Illinois Fighting Illini -2.5

Purdue Boilermakers +2.5

Over/Under 53

Noon, ET - BTN

This line opened up at Pick em” and gamers have driven the line up to a 2.5 point favorite for the road team, Illinois. The Boilermakers are coming off a huge win last week when they upset Nebraska by tallying up 55 points in the process. Illinois was shut out at Penn State. These are two teams trending in opposite directions and the oddsmakers have the wrong team favored. Purdue wins, 28-24.

Wisconsin Badgers -13

Maryland Terrapins +13

Over/Under 48.5

3:30 p.m., ET - BTN

Wisconsin got off to a sluggish start to start the season but may have turned the corner and are gelling on both sides of the ball. The Badgers offense is clicking and their defense is coming on strong. Of course it helps when you play in the weakest division in college football. Wisconsin shuts down Maryland, 35-21.

Michigan State Spartans -5.5

Nebraska Cornhuskers +5.5

Under/Over 58

7:00 p.m., Et - ESPN

When I saw this game on the board, I immediately had Sparty as a 9 or 10 point favorite. Then the line came out at -4.5 points and I jumped all over it. Nebraska can’t be anyone, as proof last week when they lost to cellar-dweller Purdue. They gave up 55 points to Purdue! Michigan State will control this game from start to finish and roll by double-digits.
