College Football Odds - Big Ten Roundup

Big-Ten-Roundup.bkr

The Big Ten season is heading down the stretch with only two weeks left. There are two big games this week that will help clarify the standings. Michigan State travels to Ohio State and the winner moves on and the loser is eliminated.

Michigan squares off against Penn State in a must win for the Wolverines and Iowa needs a win against Purdue to lock up the West Division.

As it stands, Ohio State, Michigan State or Michigan will square off against the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Big Ten Championship game. After this week we will have a little bit better understanding of the conference status.

Big Ten play continues into Week 12 with make or break games. Let’s take a look at this week’s games. All odds taken from BookMaker.eu.

ODDS ANALYSIS

Saturday, November 21, 2015

Michigan State Spartans +13

Ohio State Buckeyes -13

Over/Under 53

3:30 p.m., ET - ABC

This is a huge game for both teams. With a win, the Buckeyes will eliminate the Spartans and keep their perfect record in tact. If the Spartans win, they will have the inside track to the Big Ten Championship game and obviously spoil Ohio State’s season. The Buckeyes are a 13 point favorite and that seems to me to be a little too much. I do think the Buckeyes will survive and get the win, but not by that many. Ohio State wins, 28-24.

Michigan Wolverines -5

Penn State Nittany Lions +5

Over/Under 41.5

Noon, ET - ABC

Michigan continues to squeak by lesser opponents and if they don’t get their act together, this week will be different. Penn State can salvage their season by pulling the upset. Beaver Stadium will be packed and help the Nittany Lions prevail over the Wolverines. Penn State upsets Michigan, 21-20.

Other Games - ODDS ANALYSIS

Purdue Boilermakers +21

Iowa Hawkeyes -21

Over/Under 57.5

Noon, ET - ESPN2

Iowa continues their run and are an impressive 10-0 and ranked No. 6 in the country. The Hawkeyes will pound the ball right down the Boilermakers throat and walk away with a 3-4 touchdown victory.

Northwestern Wildcats +11

Wisconsin Badgers -11

Over/Under 40

3:30 p.m., ET - BTN

The oddsmakers have the Badgers 11 point favorites. Wisconsin’s offense has looked lethargic most of the season, but has picked it up in recent weeks. Both teams will pound the ball until the other makes a costly mistake. When teams pound the ball and play the field position game, the clock goes tick-tock, tick-tock and that is the perfect recipe for a low-scoring game.

Illinois Fighting Illini +5.5

Minnesota Gophers -5.5

Over/Under 47

Noon, ET - ESPNN

The Illini played Ohio State pretty tough last week and have a stout defensive line. Their offense struggled to capitalize but this week they are playing Minnesota, not Ohio State. This game should go right down to the wire with one team winning by three points.

Indiana Hoosiers +2.5

Maryland Terrapins -2.5

Over/Under 64

Noon, ET - BTN

This is going to be a track meet from the opening kickoff. If the weather is good, load up your savings on the OVER.

Rutgers Scarlet Knights -4.5

Army Cadets +4.5

Over/Under 54.5

Noon, ET - CBSSN

This is kind of a weird matchup considering we are in Week 12 and still playing meaningless non-conference games. I know nothing about Army and if I was to pick a winner for this game, it would be on the OVER because Rutgers can’t stop anybody and has a chance to put some points on the board against an under-sized Cadets team.
