Two more wins. Theoretically, that's all the Notre Dame Fighting Irish should need to get to the College Football Playoff. Oh sure, they're going to need to see the Big XII beat itself up a little more, while at least one of Alabama, Ohio State or Clemson would probably also do the trick. But let's face it. This is college football, and weird things happen every single Saturday. The Irish just hope they're not victims of the insanity at Fenway Park this week against the Boston College Eagles.

Boston College Eagles +17.5
Notre Dame Fighting Irish -17.5
Over/Under 42.5
ODDS ANALYSIS
The Golden Domers might be laying more than two touchdowns in this one against their Catholic rivals, but they are definitely public. The Eagles are certainly sharp having moved from +17.5 down to +16.5 in spite of the fact that less than 40 percent of the bets are on them.
All of this comes along with a very low total of 42.5, a number which has held firm all week long.
KEY MISMATCH
Ever since Darius Wade went down with a season-ending injury against Florida State, the Eagles have been scrambling to find a quarterback. John Fadule is the most recent one to give it a shot, and he threw three picks last week against N.C. State.
The bottom line is that it doesn't really matter who is throwing the ball for the Eagles. They just aren't getting the job done. As a team, the four BC quarterbacks have combined to post a putrid 98.5 quarterback rating, and the team is averaging just 9.7 completions per game. Furthermore, the Eagles' quarterbacks are getting sacked 2.5 times per game.
The Notre Dame defense is holding quarterbacks to just a 53.0 completion percentage and 6.7 yards per pass attempt. It'll be a long day for Fadule and whomever else Steve Adazio is going to trot out there under center.
KEY STAT
17 – The most points Boston College has scored in a game this season against an FCS foe. Not surprisingly, the Eagles are just 1-7 SU and 3-4-1 ATS in their FBS games.
BETTING ANGLE
The under has cashed in each of the last six games in this series. With as poorly as the Boston College offense has played of late and the knack Notre Dame has of playing to the level of its competition, an under result is entirely plausible here.
ANALYSIS AND ODDS PREDICTION
Let's not forget that the Fighting Irish are successfully winning games with DeShone Kizer at quarterback. C.J. Prosise, who is arguably the second-most talented player on this offense, didn't play last week thanks to a concussion, and he has totaled just 53 yards on the ground since October 17.
The Fighting Irish are going to win this game due to the fact that Boston College is completely inept offensively, but this certainly isn't going to be a pretty game either, not unlike last week's 28-7 win over Wake Forest.
Expect to see William Fuller, who has 937 yards and 12 TDs this year, do just enough to give the Irish the edge in their penultimate game of the season.
