North Carolina Tar Heels +5.5

Clemson Tigers -5.5 Over/Under 63

ODDS ANALYSIS

We've already seen some line movement in this game, and it isn't good for the No. 1 team in the land. Clemson started at -5.5 on Sunday, and already as of Monday night, it is down to -5 in spite of the fact that over 60 percent of the early betting is on its side. Of all of the power conference championships games, this is perhaps the most intriguing, especially knowing the possibilities for both sides.

Keep in mind that the total has risen as well from 63 to 66.5, though that isn't uncommon for championship games and bowl games.

WHEN THE NORTH CAROLINA TAR HEELS HAVE THE BALL

If only North Carolina didn't lose to South Carolina in Week 1… The Tar Heels have scored at least 26 points in every other game they've played this year, including putting up at least 41 in seven of the last 11.

Marquise Williams won't be a Heisman Trophy candidate, but when he and Elijah Hood get going, this offense is darn near impossible to stop. These two combined for over 2,000 rushing yards and 26 scores this year, and they averaged 6.3 and 6.7 yards per carry respectively.

The Clemson defensive line is awesome and hasn't been tested often, though the game Dalvin Cook had against it has to be a bit concerning.

For the Tar Heels, if Hood isn't poking holes right up the middle, scoring is going to be tough, a cue live bettors must follow. When Hood is forcing linebackers to stay inside to respect the run up the middle, that's when Williams can be truly dangerous both as a runner and as a thrower.

WHEN THE CLEMSON TIGERS HAVE THE BALL

Deshaun Watson was visibly not at his best last week, but when you go back and look at what the Clemson offense did to South Carolina, you have to be impressed. The Tigers went 9-of-13 on third downs, picked up 25 first downs, rushed for 236 yards and totaled 515 yards.

If that's what the Tigers do for their next three games, they're going to win the National Championship.

It's just so hard to keep Watson and Wayne Gallman quiet. You have to respect both the arm and the legs of Watson, and Gallman is a true home run hitter in the backfield. He's a man who can bust off three straight runs for 30+ yards after being bottled up all game long, and live bettors can't forget that fact.

The North Carolina defense has been quiet spotty against the run, allowing 208.8 yards per game, and if it can't buckle down and at least slow down Watson and Gallman and make the Tigers throw the ball more than they run it, live bettors will consistently know that Clemson is scoring on more possessions than it isn't.
