College Football Week 10 Opening Odds Report

College-Football-Week-10-bm

We've only played nine weeks of the college football season, and there are just 15 teams left in the land with either no losses or just one defeat. It's amazing to think, but there's surely more chaos set to happen over the course of the rest of the season. With 12 of the Top 25 teams in the land playing on the road, the only thing you can be sure of is that not all of the 12 are going to get out of the week without defeat.

Games of the Week

Nebraska at Ohio State – Saturday 8 p.m. ET

For the second straight week, Nebraska has to go on the road against a Top 10 team in the Big Ten. And for the second straight week, no one is giving the Cornhuskers much of a chance.

The Children of the Corn are two TD pups in this one against Ohio State at the 'Shoe in what will prove to be an elimination game for both teams. The loser of this game is surely going to be out of the National Championship picture, and it's going to be really hard for either one to get back into the Big Ten title chase as well with a second loss, though surely, it'll be easier for Nebraska than Ohio State.

The Buckeyes have been down of late, getting upset by Penn State and pushed quite a long ways by Northwestern. We're going to find out a lot about this team this week against a good Nebraska team that gave Wisconsin fits all the way into overtime last week.

Alabama at LSU – Saturday 8 p.m. ET

Some of the best games in the regular season in recent years have been Alabama/LSU games. The Tide and Tigers genuinely don't like each other, and why should they? They're constantly in the race in the SEC West against each other, and losing this game is generally a de facto eliminator for conference honors.

This year, Alabama has a bit of a parachute here, as even a loss in this game certainly keeps it in the National Championship discussion even if it doesn't end up winning this game or the SEC. No way the Tide get left out with an 11-1 record with the one loss coming here in the Bayou at night.

The extra subplot this year involves Ed Orgeron in the biggest game in his career. Coach O has been a bridesmaid before as an interim coach, but it's been a while since he was an actual head coach at Ole Miss. This is his shot for sure. If he can win this game, especially with the way Tom Herman has fallen apart at Houston this season, it's going to be really tough to take him off of this gig.
