GAME OF THE WEEK
The Big XII is wide open still, especially after Oklahoma State knocked off TCU last week in Stillwater. Oklahoma is very quietly still in a spot that it can win the Big XII and perhaps get all the way to the College Football Playoff.
Baylor is sitting at 8-0 and is in good shape, but with Jarrett Stidham only having just started his first career game last week against Kansas State.
It's easy to doubt the Bears right now after two straight failed covers against the poor teams in the conference. However, we know that this is still an explosive unit which can put points on the board in a hurry, and Oklahoma doesn't exactly have a great track record in games like these.
The Sooners opened up on five-point dogs, but almost immediately, they moved down to +3.5 and could drop as the week continues.
WEEK 11 COLLEGE FOOTBALL ODDS NOTES
-There are a pair of 40+ point favorites on the board this week. Tennessee is the second biggest favorite of the week at -40.5 in a waste game against North Texas at home. Not surprisingly, the biggest favorite of Week 11 though, is TCU. This is the second time in three weeks that Kansas has opened up as the biggest underdog on the board. Last week, the Jayhawks were +39 at home against Oklahoma in Week 9 and were beaten 62-7. They've been beaten by at least 39 in three consecutive games and four times in their last five overall.
-Appalachian State is favored by 17.5-points on the road at Idaho in Sun Belt play on Saturday. The Mountaineers have come a long way from the days when they were busy shocking Michigan at the Big House. This is the most amount of points they've been favored by in a road game in their history at the FBS level.
-BYU opened up at -3.5 against Missouri in a game which will be played at Arrowhead Stadium. The site technically is neutral, but of course, there will be a huge Tigers fan base in attendance. That said, this is the most interesting of all of the games to watch this week. Missouri's players have gone on strike over racial issues on campus, and it's anyone's guess whether it will get back to action in time to play this game. The Cougs have not surprisingly gone from -3.5 up to -5.5 in the first half hour of the betting lines being open.
