GAME OF THE WEEK

Alabama lost one game in the regular season last season. That game came down in Oxford against Ole Miss on the same day Mississippi State beat Auburn. It was a huge day for the state of Mississippi, but now, Alabama wants to exact its revenge.

The Rebels though, have averaged 74.5 points per game in their first two games this year, albeit against significantly lesser competition.

The Crimson Tide don't have as brutal of a schedule this year as they have in the past in the SEC West, and the fact that they only have one massive road game before the middle of November against Georgia on October 3 could say that the coast is clear if they cover this game.

Remember that Alabama had won 10 games in a row in this series before last year. The Rebels haven't won in Tuscaloosa since 1988.

WEEK 3 COLLEGE FOOTBALL ODDS NOTES

-Oregon is the biggest favorite of the week at - 46.5. It's the first time in seven years that a team has been favored by more than 40 points against another FBS foe a week after a loss.

-Northern Illinois is a 33-point underdog against Ohio State. The Huskies haven't been bigger than 14-point underdogs in almost a decade, and the last time they were underdogs by more than four touchdowns was back in 1998 against UCF. At that point, they were on the longest losing streak in college football at 25 games.

-Ball State is favored by a touchdown on the road at Eastern Michigan. That will end in a streak of eight straight road games in which the Cardinals have been underdogs.

-UTEP is favored by five points at New Mexico State. The last time the Miners were favored on the road was the last time they went to Las Cruces, and they were more than seven-point underdogs in all 11 of their road games since.

-Florida is only - 3 on the road against Kentucky. The Wildcats haven't won a game in this series since 1986, and there has only been one example of a game in which UF hasn't been a double-digit favorite in that span. That year, Andre Woodson was leading Kentucky in what was largely considered to be its best season in quite some time. The Gators though, still won comfortably.
