GAME OF THE WEEK
There are only two games this week between two ranked teams, and they both happen to be in the Pac-12. Considering the fact that the game between the Utah Utes and the Oregon Ducks is off the board due to the unknown nature of Vernon Adams' finger injury, we'll take a look at the UCLA Bruins and the Arizona Wildcats.
Both of these teams are 3-0, though both have very difficult roads to get through the Pac-12 without a blemish.
This is going to be quite the experience for Josh Rosen, the true freshman who is already on some Heisman watch lists. It's his first conference road game, and it comes a week after throwing three picks against BYU. However, in spite of those interceptions, the frosh stormed back and won that game against the Cougars from behind 24-23 to preserve a spotless record, albeit early in the season.
These two teams played a drab 17-7 game last year, but it was the third straight win and cover for the Bruins in this series no matter. Now, UCLA is favored by three on the road, but it will really have to earn this triumph if it is to get it.
WEEK 4 COLLEGE FOOTBALL ODDS NOTES
-A week after losing at home to Ole Miss, Alabama is favored by 38-points against Louisiana Monroe, making it the biggest favorite in Week 4.
-Appalachian State is favored at -7 on the road against Old Dominion. It's the first time the Mountaineers have ever been favored as visitors since transitioning to the FBS.
-Northern Illinois, a week after almost beating Ohio State as a 34-point underdog, is only +4 at Boston College. The Huskies have been single-digit dogs against Power 5 conference teams three times in the last three seasons, and they are not only 3-0 SU, but 3-0 ATS as well.
-Of the four Pac-12 games which currently have spreads opened, all four feature the road team as favorites. Stanford is -15.5 at Oregon State, UCLA is -3 at Arizona, USC is -5.5 at Arizona and Cal is -2 at Washington.
