You could go years and never see a regular season week go by without three Top 10 games. It's the first week of October, and it's not exactly a traditional time of year to be talking about Top 10 games, but in this case, we've got a tremendous amount of great action on the college gridiron in Week 5. Three games pitting six Top 10 teams against each other, and nine other Top 25 teams playing on the road against unranked teams. It's been a crazy season so far, but you ain't seen crazy until you see what's ahead this week!

Games of the Week

Stanford at Washington – Friday 9 p.m. ET

With apologies to what's going to go down on Saturday in Ann Arbor, the top dogs in the Pac-12 make for a much more interesting game. The Stanford/Washington game is the first of the Top 10 battles of the weekend, and the fact that ESPN has this game on a Friday night is a coup.

Washington is laying 3.5-points, essentially stating that these two teams are on perfectly level terms with one another, but we aren't so sure that's the case. Stanford certainly has the best player on the field in Christian McCaffrey, but he's going against the best defense he's seen thus far this year.

U-Dub has certainly been more impressive than Stanford thus far offensively as well. Jake Browning is a fringe Heisman Trophy contender right now with his 14/2 TD/INT ratio through four games, and if he really shows out in this one, not only will his Huskies have a stake to a Top 5 position next week, but he'll state his claim to be a Heisman hopeful as well.

Louisville at Clemson – Saturday 8:00 p.m. ET

Three games this weekend can be Top 10 battles, but only one can be a Top 5 affair. Louisville could be the only team in America to have two wins over teams ranked in the Top 5 at the time it plays against them by the time this weekend is said and done with, and if that's how this plays out, it's hard to see how this team won't have a spot in the CFP even if it does lose to Houston late in the season.

The Cardinals and Tigers have literally everything on the line at this point. By no means is this an eliminator game, but for Louisville, a win would certainly seal up the ACC Atlantic Division already in just Week 5 with the team having played just two games in conference play. Deshaun Watson and Lamar Jackson surely could put on a show in this one.

Clemson, a team that is used to blowing teams away in Death Valley, is a favorite, but the line isn't convincing at -2.5.
