College Football Week 6 Opening Odds Report

2015-NCAA-Week-6-Opening-Odds-Report

Week 5 provided a massive shakeup in the rankings, as there were all sorts of teams which scored massive victories, while Top 10 teams all over America went down, many of which dropped hard. Week 6 might not be quite as exciting in terms of upsets, but there are definitely some great games on the docket.

GAME OF THE WEEK

Everyone raise your hand who had Cal and Utah being the last two undefeated teams in the Pac-12.

No? No one?

Didn't think so.

For our money, Utah has a legitimate gripe to being the No. 1 team in America. The Utes have beaten Michigan at home and Oregon on the road, and both wins were awfully easy. Now, the Utes have a game against another up and coming team in the Pac-12 in Cal. The Golden Bears were fortunate to survive last week against Washington State, but now, Sonny Dykes gets to have his biggest game of his coaching career against a legit Top 10 team.

The Utes are lined at -7.5 at Rice-Eccles on Saturday night in what, for our money, is the best late-night kickoff of the season.

WEEK 6 COLLEGE FOOTBALL ODDS NOTES

-Three games are lined at a pick 'em to open up this week, which is one more than we have had for the rest of the season combined. UNLV and San Jose State, Wisconsin and Nebraska, and Purdue and Minnesota are all lined at PK.

-Ole Miss, fresh off of getting its butt whooped in the Swamp, opened up as the biggest favorite of the week at -40.5 versus New Mexico State. That doesn't mean that it is going to close as the biggest favorite, though. Baylor is on the road against Kansas and opened at -38, but in the first 90 minutes of the betting lines being open, that number has raised to -41.5.

-The SEC could be a little crazy this weekend. There are four inter-conference matchups, and in three of the four, the road team is favored. LSU is the biggest of the bunch at -12.5 at South Carolina, but Georgia at -2.5 at Tennessee and Florida at -4.5 at Missouri are both definitely upset candidates.
