GAME OF THE WEEK
You just get the feeling that the Miami Hurricanes are actually relatively close to regaining some of their national prominence. They've been at least somewhat good over the course of th last several years, and they won the ACC Coastal Division a couple years back while they put themselves on probation, too.
That said, they're missing that massive victory against a Top 10 program. They've had their chances against Florida State over the years, losing six straight times, but now, they get a shot at Clemson, too.
The Tigers are most certainly on upset alert. Remember that this Miami team was good enough to beat FSU on the road. Down in Coral Gables, "The U" could be in better shape. Remember that Clemson has only played one road game thus far this year, and it was lucky to escape a similar Louisville side.
WEEK 8 COLLEGE FOOTBALL ODDS NOTES
-Baylor is the biggest favorite of the college football weekend at -36 against Iowa State. In fact, there are only three teams which feature 30+ point favorites on the opening Week 8 odds, and two of those games are in the Big XII. Oklahoma State is also a massive 32.5-point favorite against Kansas.
-Temple is a rare ranked team going on the road as an underdog. East Carolina isn't the greatest team in the world at just 3-3, but the fact that it is favored in a short week against a newly minted Top 25 team has to have bettors' antennae up.
-Miami (OH) is a 22-point underdog against Western Michigan this week. It's the seventh straight game in which the Warhawks have been dogs by double-digits.
-Florida International is favored by 15 at home against Old Dominion. The last time FIU was favored by more than two touchdowns against an FBS team was back in 2012 against Akron, a game which was won 41-38 in overtime against Akron.
