No. 6-ranked Michigan heads to Florida for the second year in a row, to face No. 11-ranked Florida State in the 2016 Capital One Orange Bowl televised nationally on ESPN. Each had playoff dreams when the season began but came up short. Michigan was hurt by losing two of its last three games. Florida State finished strong after a shaky start, getting crushed by 43 points in a Week 3 trip to Louisville, and then dropping home games to North Carolina and Clemson. The Wolverines are favorites by a touchdown and I can’t wait to watch this game. Jimbo Fisher vs. Jim Harbaugh, love it!

Florida State Seminoles 9-3 vs Michigan Wolverines 10-2

December 30, 2016

Hard Rock Stadium, Miami, Florida - 8:00 p.m., ET - ESPN

No. 6 MICHIGAN WOLVERINES 10-2

The Wolverines started off the season with nine straight victories and appeared to be on their way to the playoffs but an upset loss at Iowa on the game's final play and a season-ending loss to bitter rival Ohio State in double overtime foiled their chances. The Wolverines have been ranked in the top 10 of the national polls for the entirety of the season and second year head coach Jim Harbaugh has Michigan back in the national picture. Harbaugh’s record at Michigan is 20-5. Jabrill Peppers leads a Michigan defense that ranks No. 3 in the nation. The Wolverine front is led by Taco Charlton, Chris Wormley and Ryan Glasgow and there job will be to slow down Dalvin Cook and the Seminole rushing attack.

No. 11 FLORIDA STATE SEMINOLES 9-3

The Seminoles, led by Jimbo Fisher, finished third in the Atlantic Division of the ACC. Victories in six of their last seven games, including a four-game win streak in November, the Seminoles are in prime position of their fifth straight 10-win season, and sixth in Fisher’s seven seasons at the school. The Seminoles suffered losses this year against No. 13-ranked Louisville, North Carolina and the playoff-bound No. 2 Clemson Tigers. FSU is led by RB Dalvin Cook who rushed for 1,620 yards and 18 touchdowns on 268 carries this season. He ranks sixth in the country in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns. In three games against top-10 rushing defenses this season, Cook carried 52 times for 227 yards and two touchdowns. If Cook can’t run the ball, the Noles’ are in big trouble!
