Louisville Cardinals at Florida State Seminoles betting on ESPN Saturday

Louisville-at-Florida-State-Odds13

The Florida State Seminoles have been living dangerously for the second straight season, barely escaping games which could have easily been lost. The oddsmakers are onto their act, and they're hinting to you that an upset on Saturday at home against the Louisville Cardinals is entirely possible.

ODDS ANALYSIS

The No. 11 ranked team in America shouldn't be just a seven-point favorite at home against an unranked team which still isn't necessarily guaranteed a spot in a bowl game yet. Louisville is incredibly sharp, having dropped from +7.5 at the open to bordering on +6.5 as of Wednesday morning.

The total, as has become the case in many ACC games, is understandably low at just 46.

KEY MISMATCH

Dalvin Cook is going to be a massive problem for a lot of teams this year, including a Louisville front seven which has conceded 146.8 rushing yards per game thus far in 2015. The Cardinals are conceding just 3.8 yard per carry, but they haven't seen a running back quite like this yet.

Cook legitimately could be in the Heisman Trophy conversation even though he already missed basically one full game due to injury and wasn't 100 percent against Miami last week. He has just 88 carries but has already accounted for 792 yards and eight TDs on the ground to go with 71 yards and a touchdown as a receiver.

KEY STAT

0 – The number of interceptions which Florida State has thrown this season as a team, making it one of four teams in the land to not throw a pick. Sure, Everett Golson gets a bit of a rap for not being Jameis Winston, but Jimbo Fisher knows what he has to work with here.

If Golson continues to not turn the ball over, the garnet and gold are going to continue having shots to win games.

BETTING ANGLE

The Seminoles are just 5-15 ATS in their last 20 games overall after being one of the best ATS teams in the land in their National Championship season of 2013. Their average margin of victory against Power 5 teams in that stretch is just 7.7 points per game, and only two of the 15 games have been decided by more than 11 points.

ANALYSIS AND PREDICTION

We haven't spoken a lot about the Louisville offense yet, but we have a feeling that Lamar Jackson is going to give the Seminoles a ton of trouble. He's the Cardinals' top passer and rusher, and he finds ways to just make things happen at the quarterback spot.

Jackson wasn't fantastic against Clemson a few weeks back, but he did enough to keep the Cards in the game, and that's what he is likely to do against Florida State again.

The Seminoles are in a lot of trouble here. We think there's a decent chance they escape with another narrow win, but we surely aren't that confident about it, especially if Louisville can find a way to keep Cook from putting together a ton of explosive plays.
