Utah Utes at Oregon Ducks betting on FOX Saturday

The Pac-12 still looks like one of the best conferences in America in spite of the fact that it has had a Top 10 knocked off in each of the last two weeks.

The Utah Utes and the Oregon Ducks are amongst the ranked teams this conference has, though when they play against each other on Saturday, you have to think that the loser is going to be dangerously close to falling outside of the Top 25.

WHEN THE UTAH UTES HAVE THE BALL

Live bettors can't be in love with what they have seen out of the Utah offense thus far this season. The Utes haven't been great in any given game, and dropping 45 on Fresno State just doesn't do it for us. We think what we've seen out of this team against Utah State and Michigan, both of which were 24-point efforts is what we are going to see.

Travis Wilson probably isn't going to play in this game thanks to a shoulder injury, which leaves this offense to Kendal Thompson, who has been a career backup. The good news is that Thompson is a fifth year senior, and he did look good against the Bulldogs.

Of course, not having Wilson is going to cause Kyle Whittingham to want to run the ball more often. Devontae Booker already has run the ball 84 times this season. His yards per carry average isn't great at 4.1, but it is effective enough to keep this offense moving at times.

Utah has the ability to keep this Oregon offense off of the field by running the clock a lot. Live bettors should know that drives are probably going to be lengthy when the Utes score, so as tough as it is to bet the under in an Oregon game, at least when Utah has the ball, it probably isn't a bad idea.

WHEN THE OREGON DUCKS HAVE THE BALL

Vernon Adams' finger injury kept him out of the lineup against Georgia State last week, but Jeff Lockie was just as effective in this offense. Lockie isn't quite the same scrambler that Adams is, so that dimension for the Utes wouldn't have to be worried about.

Still, the argument could be made that Lockie is an even better passer at this point in his career than Adams is, so either way, the Ducks are going to be in good hands.

Last year when these two teams met in Salt Lake City, the Utes had no answers for Marcus Mariota whatsoever, coughing up 508 yards and 51 points. They'll have to be better than that for live bettors to have any chance to win this game.

TREND TO TRACK

The Utes had a history of pulling off big upset on the road as double-digit dogs as they are in this one. They did so against Stanford and UCLA last season, and they also won in the Big House as a shorter underdog as well.

Oregon has to know that this game is dangerous, and if it doesn't know that off hand, it should go back and watch the game last year against Arizona, a similar game here at home which was lost 31-24.
