The No. 18 North Carolina Tar Heels are battle-tested and riding high right now. The Tar Heels are 6-2 on the season and are fresh off two big wins over Miami and Virginia and will be looking for their third straight victory in this Week 10 matchup against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
The Yellow Jackets come into this one as hefty underdogs, but they have a winning streak of their own going on right now, capturing their second straight victory over Duke in squeaker. While Georgia Tech has played well of late, pulling off the upset could be too big of a test.
This matchup in Week 10 of the regular season will take place on Saturday, November 5, 2016, at 12:30 p.m. at Kenan Memorial Stadium.

Odds Analysis
The line has dropped by a half-point in the past day as Georgia Tech is taking in the majority of the money and the oddsmakers are trying to even that out some. While it’s still early in the week, 58 percent of the action is heading toward a cover for the Yellow Jackets.
The scoring total has been deemed too low, as it seems some sharp money is all on the “over,” with more than 90 percent of the action flowing that way.
North Carolina is 6-2 straight up this season and 5-3 against the spread, including a mark of 3-2 as the favorite. However, the Tar Heels have only covered one time in their four homes games.
Georgia Tech is 5-3 straight up and 4-3-1 against the spread. It is 2-2 as the underdog this season and 1-0-1 on the road.
Matchup to Watch
North Carolina’s passing game against the Georgia Tech defense. This will be an intriguing matchup because Mitch Trubisky has proven that he can pass all over defense if given the chance.
The Tar Heels are averaging 301 passing yards this season behind Trubisky who has thrown for 2,378 yards. Last week against Virginia, he was 24-of-31 for 310 yards and three touchdowns.
Georgia Tech has been OK against the pass, allowing 222.4 passing yards a game. In the win last week over Duke, the Blue Devils threw for 305 yards. That could be bad news for this week if Trubisky is able to do damage through the air.
Key Stat
459. That’s how many yards Georgia Tech quarterback Justin Thomas had in the barnburner win over Duke last week. Thomas was 10-of-14 passing for 264 yards and two touchdowns while also adding 195 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
The win was Thomas’ best performance of the season by far and also a career high. The senior has thrown for 1,024 yards with six touchdowns and an interception this year and has five rushing touchdowns as well.
The Yellow Jackets use a run-heavy attack that has averaged nearly 250 yards per game, and it will be a tough matchup for the Tar Heels’ defense. If North Carolina can put Georgia Tech in third-and-long situations, it will have a big leg up, but that is easier said than done.
Free ATS Pick
While both teams have had their ups and downs this season, North Carolina has the higher ceiling. The Tar Heels have beaten a few ranked teams already and should be able to take care of Georgia Tech in this one.
The Yellow Jackets have given the opponent some trouble in several games this year, and this spread seems just about right. However, North Carolina may be able to get a late touchdown to put this one away, which would break some hearts on one end of the spread. The Tar Heels are the right call to win and cover.
