The Florida State Seminoles have played in barnburners for more than a month. They hope to put away the Boston College Eagles early in their Week 11 matchup.

Florida State is a big favorite in this one as it looks to move to 7-3 on the season. Boston College started its non-conference slate 3-0 but has lost four of five in ACC play and are projected to drop this one as well.

This contest in Week 11 of the season will go down Friday, November 11, 2016, at 7:30 p.m. ET at Doak Campbell Stadium.

Odds Analysis

The Seminoles are heavy favorites and the money is still coming in on them to cover. Florida State is getting 84.6 percent of the action. The scoring total isn’t super high but the gamblers still see it as too optimistic as a lot of the early money is on the “under.”

Florida State is 3-5-1 against the spread this season and has only covered twice in seven attempts as the favorite. The Seminoles will really need to play well to do so in this one with such a high spread.

Boston College is 3-5-1 against the spread and hasn’t been too good as the underdog, covering once in five tries and pushing once.

Matchup to Watch

Dalvin Cook vs. the Boston College run defense - The easiest way for the Eagles to cover is by slowing down Cook, the Florida State running back. He has 196 carries for 1,134 yards and 12 touchdowns on the season and is one of the best rushers in college football.

Boston College has done a nice job against the run this year, keeping opponents to only 106.6 rushing yards per contest. Cook has surpassed that number by himself in five of the past six games, including a game this season in which he accumulated 267 yards and two touchdowns against South Florida.

Injury Report

Florida State wide receiver Jesus “Bobo” Wilson had surgery on his foot on Monday and will be out the rest of the season. He is a senior, so it will signal the end of his college career.

Wilson had 30 catches for 390 yards and a touchdown this season and had more than 500 receiving yards in the two previous seasons. It is a big blow, although Nyqwan Murray has done a nice job the past two games in Wilson’s absence.

Murray had six catches for 96 yards and a touchdown in a 37-34 loss to Clemson and then had a career game last time out, catching nine passes for 153 yards in a win over North Carolina State. Murray has really exploded onto the scene and Boston College must be aware of him.

Free ATS Pick

Florida State was once upon a time ranked among the best teams in the country, but the season never lived up to that billing. The Seminoles have resembled more of a mid-tier ACC team, and are simply playing to get into the best bowl game possible at this point.

The Eagles’ defense has been good this year but will have trouble hanging with all of the athletes that Florida State can unveil. The Seminoles may not pull away too quickly in this one, but they should eventually be in a comfortable spot in the fourth quarter.

While Florida State should be able to win this game, the pick is Boston College to cover behind a defense that will make enough plays to keep the outcome close. The “under” is the prudent choice as the Seminoles won’t run away with this.
