Week 13 College Football Odds - Arkansas Razorbacks at Missouri Tigers Game Preview

2016-NCAAF-Arkansas-at-Missouri-Betting-Odds

The Missouri Tigers’ disappointing season will come to an end in Week 13 with no hope of bowl eligibility. With that in mind, it will be hard for the group to muster the proper motivation to knock off the visiting Arkansas Razorbacks.

Missouri has not looked anything like the program which competed at a high level in recent years and will head into the offseason searching for answers. Arkansas, meanwhile, is jockeying for bowl positioning and should be able to enter the postseason feeling good with a crucial road win.

Odds Analysis

Arkansas is a heavy road favorite for an SEC game but that’s because Missouri has been go bad. The gamblers are buying it, as the vast majority of the early action is jumping on the Razorbacks to cover this spread.

Arkansas is 7-4 straight up but just 4-7 against the spread this season. The Razorbacks have had trouble on the road, covering only one time in three tries.

Missouri is just 3-8 straight up this year and 4-7 against the spread as well. The Tigers have been good at home, covering in four of six attempts, which is something to consider when wagering on this matchup.

Player to Watch

Rawleigh Williams III – The Arkansas running back is coming into this game on a high note. He rushed for 205 yards and four touchdowns last week, a career high, in the 59-42 win over Mississippi State.

Williams had some impressive touchdown runs including a long of 72 yards and also threw a touchdown pass in the win, connecting with Austin Cantrell from a yard out on a halfback option play. The sophomore has 208 carries for 1,209 and 11 carries so far this season.

He is averaging 5.8 yards a carry right now and has rushed for 100 yards or more during six games this season. But, last week was a breakout game and the young back will look to build upon it this week against Missouri.

Key Stat

661. That’s how many total yards Arkansas accumulated last week in the team’s win over Mississippi State. Williams was a big part of that victory as mentioned above and the team finished with 357 total yards on the ground.

The Razorbacks quarterback Austin Allen was 18 of 25 for 305 yards with two touchdowns. The team, which has struggled with consistency this season, was firing on all cylinders last week.

Missouri has lost six of its past seven games and was pasted by Tennessee last time out. The losing has to take a toll. The Tigers probably aren’t greatly outmanned in this one, personnel-wise, but Arkansas is feeling much better mentally and will enter with more swagger.

The Tigers’ problem has been on defense as they have allowed nearly 33 points per game on the season. The offense will try to keep up led by running back Damarea Crockett and quarterback Drew Lock, but Lock needs to play well for that to happen.

There is a line of thinking where it makes sense to choose Missouri to cover. The Tigers have played better at home and despite the record aren’t severely less talented.

The issue is that this losing season has undoubtedly taken its toll. Look for an uninspired outing for Missouri, which could help Arkansas come away with a double-digit victory to cover this spread. The scoring total hasn’t yet been released but the “over” could be the call since neither defense is too great. Check in on the total later in the week.
