The Baylor Bears and Texas Tech Red Raiders both had reason to be excited early in the season. Now they are reeling as they face off in Week 13 of the college football season.
Baylor started the season 6-0 but has lost four straight and will aim to end that losing streak in this one. The Bears are favored to do so. Texas Tech started 3-1 but has only won once in their past eight games and will try to pull the upset to end that streak.
This matchup in Week 13 of the regular season will take place on Friday, November 25, 2016, at 7 p.m. ET at AT&T Stadium, Arlington.

Baylor -5
Over/Under 84.5
Odds Analysis
Baylor is the favorite and the gambling public thinks the spread isn’t quite high enough, as nearly 70 percent of the action has chosen the Bears to cover.
The scoring total is, unsurprisingly, extremely high because both of these teams have high-powered offenses and horrible defenses. The early action is taking the “under” at an 80 percent clip, figuring there will be enough stops every once in awhile to keep the total under 84.5 points.
Baylor is 6-4 straight up and has gone 3-7 against the spread. The Bears have been the favorite eight times this season and have covered the spread in three of those matchups.
Texas Tech is 4-7 overall and 7-4 against the spread. The Red Raiders have been underdogs six times and have covered four of those times.
Player to Watch
Patrick Mahomes – The Texas Tech quarterback has been a big reason why the Red Raiders have remained competitive in games this season. That changed last week, of course, when usually high-scoring offense was held to just one touchdown in the 66-10 loss to Iowa State team.
In what many believe will be a shootout this week in Arlington, Mahomes will be the key again for the Red Raiders although there isn’t much on the line for either side considering their current records.
The junior has thrown for 4,466 yards with 35 touchdowns and ten interceptions and leads a passing game that leads the nation in passing yards per game with 451.8 yards.
Key Stat
82. That’s how many points Baylor has been outscored by in its last three losses. The Bears aren’t just losing games, they are getting obliterated.
After losing to Texas by a point on October 29th, Baylor took a total nose dive to lose the next three in a row to TCU, Oklahoma and Kansas State and arrive here. It’s hard to believe this is the same team that started 6-0 and once had College Football Playoff aspirations.
Despite that, Baylor is favored in this one, but has to get the offense rolling again and the defense playing well or it could be susceptible to the upset.
Free ATS Pick
The good news for one of these teams is that it will snap out of the funk, but it’s tough to know which one. Texas Tech has an elite passing game but not much else.
While Baylor looks more well-rounded, it has looked anything but in the past three games. The Bears have more talent but are in a big-time funk, which is a worry when it comes to this spread.
If this game remains close throughout, it will be a good sign for the Red Raiders. Baylor is the choice to win but Texas Tech can come away with the cover because the offense is good enough to score in bunches in this one.
Either way, this should be an entertaining game and even despite the high spread, take the “over” because neither offense should be able to stay up with the other offense.
College Football Odds: Baylor 45, Texas Tech 42
