The Idaho Vandals seem to already have their bowl destination set, but hope to go there on a four-game winning streak. Idaho will face off against the Georgia State Panthers in the regular season finale for both sides in Week 14 of the regular season.
Idaho is the home team and has the better record, so it’s no surprise that it is the favorite in this one. The Panthers will really need to play well in order to have a shot at the upset.
Kickoff for this regular season Week 14 game is set for Saturday, December 3, 2016, at 5 p.m. ET at ASUI-Kibbie Dome.

Odds Analysis
Idaho State is nearly a touchdown favorite at home in this one and more than 79 percent of the betting action has come in on it to cover that spread. The scoring total may be a little low since most of the early money has chosen the “over” in this matchup.
Idaho is -265 on the moneyline in this one, while Georgia State is +215, so an upset would pay out nicely.
The Vandals are 7-4 straight up and also 7-4 against the spread this season. Idaho has been the favorite four times this season and has covered in three of those contests.
Georgia State is just 3-8 straight up but has done a really nice job against the spread with a record of 7-4. The Panthers have been the underdog seven times this season and have covered in five of those attempts.
Key Stat
5-1. That’s Idaho’s record in the last six games. The Vandals have had a strong finish to the season after starting 1-2.
Idaho has won three in a row coming into this matchup against Georgia State, including wins over Louisiana Lafayette, Texas State and South Alabama. Idaho’s only loss in the last six weeks was to Appalachian State on October 22nd. The team will be looking to keep the winning streak alive against the Panthers.
Idaho is expected to play against Air Force in the NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl in Tucson regardless of the result in this one, but would love to enter winners of six of seven.
Player to Watch
Isaiah Saunders – The Idaho running back is coming off a career game last week in the win over South Alabama. He had 23 carries for 142 yards and three touchdowns in the victory.
He has 104 carries for 485 yards and six touchdowns on the season. The sophomore has seen a big increase in touches the last few weeks, but last week was a big breakout game and he will be looking to build upon that this week against Georgia State.
The Panthers have struggled badly stopping the run this season, giving up 212.0 per contest. If Saunders can break out for a big game Idaho should have a very good shot at taking care of business.
Free ATS Pick
Idaho might have a nice record, but it is still being outscored by an average of four points per game this season. While Georgia Southern’s record isn’t close to the same, it has only been outscored by one extra point per game.
With that in mind, this one may be more competitive than originally thought. Georgia Southern will need to get a big game out of quarterback Conner Manning, who has thrown for 2,418 yards with 14 touchdowns and nine interceptions this season.
If he can successfully move the ball through the air, this once may be an upset special despite what the records would predict. If you want a good option for an upset choice, go with the Panthers on the moneyline.
