The Texas AM Aggies will look to stay unbeaten as they visit the South Carolina Gamecocks in Week 5 action on Saturday on SEC Network. Not only is Texas AM 4-0 SU, they are 4-0 ATS, winning by an average of 27 points per game. On the other side, the Gamecocks are 2-2 both SU and ATS and South Carolina is coming off a disappointing loss last week at Kentucky. The Aggies opened up as 16-point favorites in this contest and the line quickly moved to 17.

Odds Analysis

The Aggies opened up as 16-point favorites and the wiseguys jumped all over this number and took it quickly to 17. It is a little bit surprising that this number moved so quickly but Texas AM has been very impressive so far this season scoring more than 40 points per game while South Carolina has struggled a little bit.

The public will want nothing to do with South Carolina so if the wiseguys don’t take some buyback on the Gamecocks then this line will go even higher and it would not be a surprise to see AM laying 18 or more by game time.

Player to Watch

The Aggies have been rolling thanks in large part to the play of quarterback Trevor Knight. He had two long TD runs last week in the win over Arkansas and he threw a 92-yard touchdown pass to Josh Reynolds.

"We're trying to grow with Trevor. I think tonight he struggled early throwing, but he got running, and that was it," head coach Kevin Sumlin said. "Somebody asked me what his best stat is, and I said it's winning."

Knight threw for 225 yards and two TDs in the victory and for the season he already has thrown for more than 1,000 yards.

Texas AM has had issues at quarterback in past seasons as Kenny Hill, Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray didn't play well. The Aggies now have their man in Knight and he continues to improve each week.

Texas AM is in the Top 10 in the country in yards per game at 546 per game and the Aggies are scoring 43 points per game, good for 17th in the nation.

The Aggies run their offense with mostly four wide receiver sets but they may have more trouble running that set this week as Ricky Seals-Jones was injured in last week’s win over Arkansas.

Key Stat

These teams have met twice with the Aggies winning both contests. Texas AM won 35-28 at home last season but they didn’t cover the 14-point number while the Aggies won 52-28 at South Carolina two years ago. Both games easily went over the total.

It would not be a surprise if Texas AM won this game as the Aggies have started 5-0 in each of the last two years. Starting fast didn’t do the Aggies any good as they finished with five losses in both years. This is definitely a game the Aggies need to win as they still have Alabama, LSU and Mississippi to play this season.

Free ATS Pick

The Aggies will be favored in this game and at first glance they would seem to be the right side but there are a couple of reasons for caution. The Aggies are coming off a big win last week against Arkansas and now they play a weak South Carolina team and the Gamecocks have been a better team playing at home both straight up against the spread.

I will take the big points with South Carolina and also play the game under the total.

College Football Odds: Texas AM 24, South Carolina 17
