There is little doubt that Tennessee Vols fans are still riding high after last week’s thrilling win over the Georgia Bulldogs on a Hail Mary pass as time expired. And Georgia fans are experiencing far less exciting emotions.
The Bulldogs are now 2-3 and in desperate need of a rebound win in Week 6. The once nationally-ranked Bulldogs take on the South Carolina Gamecocks on the road but are solid favorites to emerge victorious.

Odds Analysis
Georgia may not be great, but it’s the clearly superior team in this matchup against rebuilding South Carolina. The Bulldogs are touchdown favorites on the road and nearly 62 percent of the betting action is coming in on them to cover.
The scoring total is quite low because the Gamecocks have trouble offensively, and even so, more than 83 percent of the money is taking the “under” early on.
Player to Watch
Perry Orth -- South Carolina coach Will Muschamp could change signal-callers this week and go with Orth after he played pretty well in relief last week in a loss to Texas A&M.
Orth was 11-of-18 for 138 yards in the final quarter in place of an ineffective Brandon McIlwain. McIlwain has gotten more playing time this season but has not proven to be ready for SEC competition as a freshman.
Orth started last season and has more experience, and if he plays it should help the team’s offense.
Injury Report
The Bulldogs’ leading rusher, Nick Chubb, is back at practice this week after spraining his ankle in the Ole Miss game on September 24. Chubb was limited to a single carry in last week’s loss to Tennessee.
The return of the junior tailback, who had 32 carries for 222 yards in Week 1 against North Carolina, will be huge. Chubb has 84 carries for 425 yards and three touchdowns so far this year.
He could be in line for a big game as the South Carolina defense is allowing more than 200 yards per contest on the ground.
While Chubb is back, defensive linemen John Atkins and David Marshall were either limited or missed practice early in the week, so keep an eye on their availability as the week moves on.

South Carolina is 2-3 coming into this one. The team has victories over Vanderbilt and East Carolina but the Gamecocks are also in two-game hole, falling to Kentucky and No. 9 Texas A&M.
South Carolina comes in as the underdog despite the home field advantage because it struggles on offense. The Gamecocks are only scoring 14 points per game, which includes an offense that is only accumulating 301.8 yards per game.
The defense has been pretty good, giving up only 18 points per contest, but it won’t matter if the offense can’t keep pace.
Georgia started the season on a high note, defeating No. 22 North Carolina 33-24 while rolling to a 3-0 start. But the Bulldogs hit some stumbling blocks in recent weeks in a tough stretch that included losses to Ole Miss and that stinger to Tennessee last week.
The Georgia offense is averaging 408.3 yards a game while the South Carolina defense is allowing 403.8 a game. The pass-heavy Bulldog offense will win out if the Gamecocks can’t step up Saturday.
Even though the Bulldogs are smarting from last week’s loss, this is a good game to have afterward. Georgia should be able to shake off any lingering effects and come up with a good win.
Don’t expect a bunch of points, but Georgia should be able to control this one and pull out the road win.
