The Memphis Tigers are road favorites on Friday night in Week 7 action as they visit the Tulane Green Wave in a game that can be seen on ESPN U. The Tigers are coming off a big comeback win over Temple last week as they scored 27 straight points to win 34-27 while the Green Wave have had a lot of time to get ready for this contest as they beat Massachusetts two weeks ago. It has been all Memphis in this series of late as they have won the past nine meetings.

Odds Analysis
The Tigers opened up as 11-point favorites in this game. There was no early action on the contest but it would not be a surprise if the wiseguys took the points with Tulane as a home dog. The Green Wave look to be improved this season and getting double-digits at home could be the way to go in this contest.
When the total comes out on this game, we could see some movement on the under as five of the last six games in the series have gone under.
Matchup to Watch
The key in this game will be how well the Tulane offense does against the Memphis defense. Tulane head coach Willie Fritz runs a spread-option offense which means a lot of running plays. The Green Wave are 16th in the nation in rushing yards per game even without Sherman Badie who has a groin injury. Josh Rounds and Dontrell Hilliard have combined for 442 yards in the last three games.
Tulane is averaging 31 points per game this season so they should be able to move the ball against the Memphis defense but it won’t be easy. The Tigers are allowing just 134.2 rushing yards per game which is 36th in the country. Memphis is allowing just 20.4 points per contest which is 28th in the nation.
The Tigers have not been very good against the pass this season allowing 269 yards per game. Tulane was poor early in the season throwing the ball but lately they have been better with quarterback Glen Cuiellette taking over as the starter. He has thrown for 333 passing yards and five touchdowns in the last two games. He has gotten help from redshirt sophomore Terren Encalade who has 14 catches for 228 yards and four touchdowns in the last two games.
Key Stat
Memphis has dominated this series winning each of the last nine games and they are 7-2 ATS. The Tigers won 41-13 at home last season but the spread was so high (-30) that Memphis didn’t cover the number. It was the first time since 2007 that Tulane covered the spread in this series.
Even though both of these teams are thought of as high scoring teams, five of the last six meetings have gone under the total. A big reason why the games have been low scoring is the non-competitive nature of the series as the teams haven’t played a close game since 2007.
Free ATS Pick
The Tigers have definitely owned this series but this is a lot of points for a marginal team to be laying on the road. Tulane is definitely improved defensively this season as they are allowing just 309 yards per game which is 13th-best in the country. They are giving up just 22.4 points per contest and that is 36th in the country.
Tulane has had plenty of time to get ready for this game and they will be primed to try and end their drought in this series. I will take the big points with Tulane on Friday night.
