Fantasy Football Betting Online: The NFL season is right around the corner, which means fantasy football drafts are cranking up. One of the biggest keys to any season is finding a productive quarterback, because it is a position that can carry a team in certain weeks. The top-ranked quarterback heading into the 2016 fantasy football season is Cam Newton, as the reigning league MVP showed his ability to score points both through the air and with his legs last season in fantasy football betting.

Cam Newton threw for 3,837 yards and 35 touchdowns while rushing for 636 yards and 10 more scores in 2015 and is entering his age-27 season. That portends well, although Newton outplaying his career numbers in such a big way does allow for some concern that he regresses back to that bigger sample size. For those who believe Newton ascension isn’t finished, he is the slam-dunk choice as the top pick. Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has long been one of the top fantasy football quarterbacks and remains that way in 2016. His numbers were down a year ago, but the return of Jordy Nelson from injury and the addition of tight end Jared Cook gives Rodgers more weapons than he had a year ago. Rodgers is one of the safer picks at quarterback as it is hard to see him having very many poor games.

The third-rated quarterback in fantasy football this year is Russell Wilson, who like Newton brings an element of both running and passing. The departure of star running back Marshawn Lynch could put more of an onus on the passing game, which could lead to bigger numbers for Wilson. Andrew Luck struggled through injuries and ineffectiveness a season ago but has been a star in years prior and is expected to bounce back. Even though Drew Brees is aging, he still put up big numbers in 2015 and is expected to excel once again this year. Ben Roethlisberger is an intriguing choice, as he has star wideout Antonio Brown and other nice weapons, and the four-game suspension of running back Le’Veon Bell could make the team more pass-happy early in the season.

Carson Palmer is the seventh-rated quarterback in fantasy following his career year in 2015, and he returns every skill player who recorded a yard gained for the Cardinals last season. Tom Brady drops to No. 8 because of his four-game suspension for the Deflategate scandal, but if a fantasy owner can find a good early-season replacement, Brady will pay off in the long run. Other quarterbacks who are likely to start for many fantasy teams include the Giants’ Eli Manning, the Jaguars’ Blake Bortles, the Chargers’ Philip Rivers and the Bills’ Tyrod Taylor.

Some sleepers include the Raiders’ Derek Carr, the Cowboys’ Tony Romo as he returns from an injury-plagued season and the Redskins’ Kirk Cousins. Finding a solid quarterback is important in fantasy football, and owners can go a lot of different way with these options in 2016 fantasy football betting.
