Huge line swing has to have live bettors thinking about Eagles over Packers in NFL Week 3

Eagles-at-Packers.ar

Without a quarterback injury, it is incredibly rare that you see a team move 5.5 points in an NFL game. Things like this only happen in the preseason.

The Green Bay Packers were favored by a field goal at the start of this week, but as of the publication of this article on Thursday morning, they have fallen all the way to +2.5 against the Philadelphia Eagles, a fact which has to have the antennae up on live bettors.

QUARTERBACK ROTATION

Though no one has come out and said that Aaron Rodgers isn't going to play all that long in this game, the common thought is that he won't be playing all that long after watching his favorite receiver, Jordy Nelson go down with a torn ACL last week. If that turns out to be the case, it becomes believable that, on a day where starters generally play at least two full quarters, men like Scott Tolzien, Brett Hundley and Matt Blanchard are going to end up getting extra reps.

Don’t be stunned if Tolzien is working with the first-team offense after Rodgers plays a drive or two to keep the Lambeau faithful happy.

And then there are the Eagles, whom we still have no clue what they're doing and probably never will for as long as Chip Kelly is around.

Kelly didn't let Sam Bradford play all that much last week in his first preseason game, but this could be a different story. We'd be shocked if the former top pick is out of this game before halftime, but Kelly will probably find ways to mix and match his four quarterbacks to get them all on the field in the situations he is searching for.

WHEN GREEN BAY HAS THE BALL

Watching these wide receivers will be interesting. Davante Adams is now a full-time starter with Nelson out, while Randall Cobb is going to have a lot more attention without his running mate on the field at the same time. Ty Montgomery is all of a sudden going to be cast into a bigger role as well, while the team's tight ends, namely Richard Rodgers will likely be asked to do a little more this year, too.

We probably won't see a ton of hints as to what the Packers are going to look like in a couple weeks when the games start to count, but Rodgers, whether he likes preseason games or not, has to really make sure he's in shape with his wide outs.

WHEN PHILADELPHIA HAS THE BALL

Would you believe the Eagles now have 76 points in two preseason games with Bradford running a grand total of just two drives? Granted, the defense and the special teams have chipped in, but the bottom line is that this unit is humming right along.

Philadelphia has run 84 and 74 plays on offense in its first two exhibitions, proving once again that the Kelly, high-octane offense is going to produce a lot of spots for overs for bettors. Tons of drives are taking less than three minutes, some of which are from the offense just rolling down the field, and some of which are just three-and-outs. Either way, live bettors can bet the over easily when Philly is about to get it, knowing that something is going to happen quickly.

TREND TO TRACK

Perhaps it shouldn't be considered shocking that the Eagles are such a good over team in the preseason. They are now 9-1 in Kelly's 10 exhibitions since he jumped from the ranks of college to the NFL, and there's little reason to believe that won't continue, even against a number as high as 48.5 currently posted at BookMaker. Live bettors need to know that, no matter what the circumstance is, betting the over is always a good call with Kelly in the picture.
