Much has been said about the New York Giants and the way they have nursed leads thus far in 2015. They have been up by double digits in the fourth quarter of all three of their games, but this week, they are very likely to be playing from behind somewhere along the way when they travel to Orchard Park to take on the Buffalo Bills.
WHEN THE BUFFALO BILLS HAVE THE BALL
Don't look now, but Tyrod Taylor has led one of the NFL's best offenses. Yes, it's only three games, but the Colts, Patriots and Dolphins all had teams which were at least in contention for the playoffs most of last season, and Taylor has dropped an average of 33.3 points per game on their backsides.
There are issues for sure, though. LeSean McCoy has already admitted that he might have to sit out this game thanks to a hamstring issue which limited him to just 11 carries and 16 yards, while Sammy Watkins has been MIA at times this year and is fighting a calf injury which could hamper him throughout the week.
Still, the Giants are there for the taking. They have managed no pass rush whatsoever, and they aren't going to have any answers for Karlos Williams either out of the backfield. Williams is the first rookie rusher in almost two decades to rush for a touchdown in each of his first three games as a pro, and this backfield is in good hands even if McCoy can't play.
This secondary has had tons of issues. Tony Romo picked out whatever receiver he wanted time and time again. Matt Ryan hardly missed when he was targeting Julio Jones. Even Kirk Cousins threw for 316 yards against this unit, though much of that came in garbage time with the game out of hand.
It's still enough for us to know that Taylor is going to be alright, though. Live bettors should be aware that those big plays for the Bills are coming eventually.
WHEN THE NEW YORK GIANTS HAVE THE BALL
Speaking of big plays, how about Odell Beckham? The man is flat out a monster, picking up 14 catches in his last two games. The way he goes up and just snares the football out of the air is remarkable, and there isn't a corner which Buffalo is bringing to the table that can stop him.
The key is going to be getting a pass rush on Eli Manning. We have seen the younger Manning brother shrivel at times when he has been assaulted. He has been sacked just three times in three games, which is good, but we know that Ereck Flowers is still hurting, and that could leave the left side of this line there for the beating. That means Mario Williams could be in for a big time game.
No man exploits a weakness along the offensive line quite like Rex Ryan, and we know the Bills can be put up points in a hurry against if their defense can play lights out like we know it has the capable of doing.
TREND TO TRACK
These two teams have combined to play six games this season. All six have featured over 40 points, and five of the six have gotten into at least the 50s as well.
Buffalo's games haven't always looked like easy overs in the early going, though. In fact, in two of its three games, the team pitched a shutout in the first half.
Still, the over in the second half is 5-1 between these two teams this year, and with the bevy of points each has put up (and allowed) in the second halves, you can bet that no under is safe in live betting at any point in this one.
