NFL ATS Picks - Atlanta Falcons at Seattle Seahawks Game Preview

Falcons-at-Seahawks-(ESPN)

Two of the most talented teams in the NFC will face off when the Seattle Seahawks host the Atlanta Falcons in Week 11 of the regular season. Both have been good this year but not great and are hoping to turn it up in order to make the playoffs.

The Falcons made it to the Super Bowl last season while this Seahawks core has been there twice, so the aspirations are extremely high. This should be an intriguing matchup as Atlanta has a high-powered offense while Seattle’s defense is perennially one of the best in the NFL.

The Seahawks are slight favorites but this is the type of game that could go either way.

This matchup in Week 11 of the regular season will take place on Monday, November 20, 2017, at 8:30 p.m. ET at CenturyLink Field.

Seattle Seahawks -2.5

Odds Analysis

The Falcons are the slight underdogs but are getting the majority of the action. Atlanta is only 5-4 on the season but still has a lot of talent and is coming off a nice win over the Cowboys. The Seahawks are -137 favorites on the moneyline, while Atlanta is listed as the +117 underdogs. About two-thirds of the action is on the Falcons to win straight up.

The scoring total is low for a Falcons game, but that’s because the Seahawks have such a great defense and are struggling to score points. The “over” is the current side getting more action, with about 70 percent of the money choosing that side of the total.

Injury Report

Richard Sherman — The Seahawks’ star cornerback ruptured his Achilles the last time out and will miss the rest of the season. Seattle signed Byron Maxwell to take his place but the loss of Sherman is a huge. The Seahawks’ cornerbacks are going to be tested in this one, and the loss of Sherman is huge.

Devonta Freeman -- The Atlanta running back is listed as doubtful in this game with a concussion. It’s the second of the season for Freeman and it’s hard to see him playing. The Falcons will rely on Tevin Coleman in the backfield, but he isn’t the same receiving threat as Freeman.

Duane Brown -- The Seahawks’ new left tackle sprained his ankle last time out in a win over the Cardinals and is hoping to play in this one. The Seattle offensive line is the team’s biggest weakness and it would love to have its best player.

Kam Chancellor -- The Seattle safety is battling a stinger and is questionable for this game. The Seahawks are already missing Sherman and hope that the hard-hitting Chancellor can play. If not, it’s another huge absence in the secondary.

Earl Thomas -- The Seahawks’ star safety has missed the past two games with a hamstring. He is expected to return in this one, and the Seattle secondary could really use his talent and experience on the back end with the other players in the Legion of Boom ailing.

Revenge Angle

These teams met in the postseason a year ago and the Falcons dominated offensively on their way to the win and a Super Bowl push. There is a lot of the same personnel on each side, but Atlanta has yet to hit its groove.

The Seahawks are one game behind the surprising Rams in the NFC West and need to keep winning to keep pace. The Falcons could really use this road win, but Seattle is definitely aiming for revenge to make their case stronger for the postseason and to damage Atlanta’s.

The NFC postseason picture is bunched tightly together, and this game will have lasting ramifications.

Free ATS Pick

The Falcons have a tough task on the road, but the Seahawks are so banged up on defense it will be hard for them to play up to their usual standard. This one should remain close, but take Atlanta to come away with a much-needed road victory.

The Falcons on the moneyline is a great play in this showdown. Take the “over” as the Seattle defense won’t be able to contain the Falcons’ wideouts.

NFL Odds: Falcons 27, Seahawks 24
