Buffalo is coming off a nice victory over the Denver Broncos and has the type of ball control offense which is essential in keeping the high-powered Atlanta offense on the sideline. If the Bills get their running game going they should have a shot at covering this spread.
Kickoff for this regular season Week 4 game is set for Sunday, October 1, 2017, at 1 p.m. ET at Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Odds Analysis
The Falcons have been dominant at home over the past year-plus, and the spread is a nod to that. Buffalo is a solid foe but Atlanta is still favored by more than a touchdown. The odds were just released, but check in to see how the action moves the line. Bettors don’t figure to be scared off by the high spread as Atlanta is an intriguing choice to cover.
The scoring total is high for a normal NFL game but actually lower than most will likely be when Atlanta plays at home this season. That’s because the Bills don’t score a lot, and they click time off the clock by sticking to a run-based attack. That will limit the Falcons’ possessions and their ability to put up a huge scoring total.
Injury Report
Vic Beasley -- The Falcons’ star pass-rusher injured his hamstring in a Week 2 win over the Packers and is not expected to play against the Bills. He had an NFL-high 15.5 sacks in 2016 and is a critical missing piece. Beasley had a sack in each of the first two games in 2017 before getting injured.
Marcell Dareus -- The Bills defensive tackle has been battling an ankle injury and didn’t play in Week 3 against the Broncos. He is a former star who is trying to find his footing again. Dareus can be a game-changer when healthy and effective, but he shouldn’t be counted on in this one because his status is too cloudy.
Cordy Glenn -- The Bills’ offensive tackle has been battling ankle and foot injuries which kept him out of last week’s game. Buffalo’s offensive line is one of its biggest strengths and it would love to have Glenn available for this contest. Keep an eye on his availability as it is important.
Player To Watch
LeSean McCoy -- The Bills’ only real chance at pulling this upset will be by dominating the matchup on the ground. McCoy, the team’s star running back, is one of the shiftiest runners in the NFL but has yet to get untracked this season.
After gaining 110 rushing yards on the ground in the season opener against the hapless Jets, McCoy has only totaled 30 rushing yards on 26 carries in his past two games. That’s not going to cut it for the Bills as they face off against arguably the most potent offense in the NFL.
If McCoy can surpass 100 rushing yards, his team should be able to stick around.
Free ATS Pick
The Falcons look every bit a Super Bowl contender early on, as their offense remains powerful and the defense is improving. The Bills are a punchy underdog, though, using a style that not many do in the NFL. The spread is a tough one, but Atlanta has been fantastic at home. Take the Falcons to win this game and cover. The “over” is the choice on the scoring total as even Buffalo’s ball-control style won’t work well enough to slow Atlanta.
NFL Odds: Falcons 31, Bills 20
