NFL ATS Picks - Chicago Bears at Philadelphia Eagles Game Preview

Bears-at-Eagles-(FOX)

The Philadelphia Eagles have quickly morphed into a Super Bowl contender, and may be the team to beat in the NFC at this point. They will aim to keep it up when they host the Chicago Bears in Week 12 of the regular season.

Chicago has shown the ability to stay in games behind a strong running game and a decent defense, but it is a below average team on the road against a great one, which isn’t a good combination. The Eagles boast dominant units on both sides of the ball and likely won’t slow down provided they stay reasonably healthy the rest of the way.

There are a few teams on Philadelphia’s tail for the top seed in the NFC, so the 9-1 Eagles can’t afford to slip up in a game like this when they are the clear favorite.

This contest in Week 12 of the regular season will go down Sunday, November 26, 2017, at 1 p.m. ET at Lincoln Financial Field.

Odds Analysis

The Eagles are heavy favorites, just under two touchdowns. Despite giving so many points, the betting public is riding Philadelphia hard as more than 85 percent of the early action is on Philadelphia to cover this spread.

The scoring total is about middle of the pack. The Eagles can score in bunches, but the Bears play lower-scoring games and don’t figure to light up the scoreboard. The “over” has been chosen the majority of the time thus far as bettors thing the Eagles will score plenty of points.

Injury Report

Leonard Floyd — The Bears linebacker is out indefinitely after suffering a knee injury Sunday against the Lions. Floyd collided with teammate Kyle Fuller while making a tackle in the fourth quarter when the injury occurred and he left the field on a cart. The severity of the injury is not yet known, although the belief if Floyd avoided a torn ACL, which would be very good news.

Jake Elliott — The Eagles’ kicker is in mandatory concussion protocol after suffering a hit to the head in the Eagles win over the Cowboys. Elliott suffered the injury on the opening drive and was pulled from the game after missing a 34-yard-field goal. The Eagles had to play the latter half of Sunday’s game without him, but the offense did so well that it didn’t matter. Philadelphia scored multiple touchdowns and went for two-point conversions afterwards.

Key Stat

4. That’s how many games in a row Chicago has lost by one possession. The Bears are only 2-4 in their past six contests but have always been competitive in the defeats.

The Bears lost by just a field goal to the Vikings to start the streak, lost by eight points to the Packers, lost by seven to the Packers and lost by a field goal to the Lions last time out.

Chicago doesn’t have a very good record but it has stuck around against opponents. If the Bears can continue that streak against the Eagles, they will cover the spread with ease. However, it will be tough against such a strong opponent.

Free ATS Pick

The Bears have made some improvements this season and may be able to hang around in this one if they get the run game going. Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen is a nice duo, but the Eagles’ defense can really hone in on them and force Mitchell Trubisky to make plays through the air.

Philadelphia has dominated opponents all year, but this could be a bit of a trap game after an inspired showing last time out to beat Dallas. The Eagles know the value of a win here as they will keep marching along, but this spread is just a touch too high.

Take Philadelphia to win but the Bears to cover the spread. The “over” is the choice as Chicago will score enough to get it there.

NFL Odds: Eagles 30, Bears 17
