NFL ATS Picks - Cleveland Browns at Cincinnati Bengals Game Preview

Browns-at-Bengals-(CBS)

The Cleveland Browns are running out of chances to get a victory this season. They hope Week 12 is the magic game when they travel to face off against the Cincinnati Bengals. Cleveland hung tough last week at home against the Jaguars before falling off in the late stages. The Bengals aren’t an overwhelmingly talented team but they certainly have more pieces than Cleveland.

If this game was in Cleveland, the Browns could have a decent shot. Instead, they must go on the road and aim to pull off a sizable upset. While it is unlikely, it’s not completely out of the question.

This matchup in Week 12 of the regular season will take place on Sunday, November 26, 2017, at 1 p.m. ET at Paul Brown Stadium.

Odds Analysis

The Browns are more than touchdown underdogs, but there is some belief in them in this matchup. Cleveland is currently garnering more than 71 percent of the action against the spread.

The scoring total is low for an NFL game based on a pair of underachieving offenses. The betting public has deemed it too low at this point as the “over” is getting about 80 percent of the action.

Injury Report

Adam Jones — The Bengals cornerback missed last week’s game with a concussion, which is an injury that can linger. He is a longtime pro and still one of the better cover men on the team. The Browns don’t have a lot of dynamic weapons on offense, but Cincinnati would love to have Jones available in the secondary to help shut down any long pass attempts.

William Jackson — The Bengals also didn’t have young corner Jackson last time out because of a toe injury. If these ailments keep on adding up, the depth in the secondary will be tested. Keep an eye on the status of both Jackson and Jones. Cincinnati has a solid defense when everyone is healthy, but any team will be challenged if two of its better cornerbacks are out.

Corey Coleman — The Browns wide receiver broke his hand early in the season but made his return in last week’s loss to the Jaguars. Coleman made an immediate impact, catching six passes for 80 yards. The youngster has talent and will immediately become one of the team’s biggest threats. Coleman is passed the injury and is hoping for a big end to the season to establish himself as a playmaker in the NFL.

Player To Watch

DeShone Kizer -- The Browns’ rookie quarterback has taken his lumps this season, throwing 14 interceptions and only five touchdowns. He has had some stretches of good play but has struggled to put it all together for an entire game.

This is expected to be a low-scoring game, and if Kizer can manage to hold onto the ball and make some good throws, the Browns could hang around. However, if he is picked off multiple times it is going to be nearly impossible for the team to come away victorious for the first time.

Free ATS Pick

The Bengals have struggled for much of this season as the magic they found in 2015 has never returned. Quarterback Andy Dalton has not been very good and star receiver A.J. Green isn’t getting a lot of help on offense.

Cincinnati is going to win this game, but it is going to be much closer than the oddsmakers are projecting. The eight-point spread is a good one to back the Browns, because losing by a touchdown would still result in the cover. This margin, though, isn’t even going to be that large. Take Cleveland to cover as this game goes down to the wire before the Bengals finally pull it out.

The “under” is the call as it is going to be a grind.

NFL Odds: Bengals 20, Browns 17
