The Dallas Cowboys laid an egg last time out, as they went to Denver and got demolished by the Broncos. They are on the road again and hope to turn it around in a matchup with the Arizona Cardinals in Week 3. Arizona has struggled in its first two games and was lucky to pull out an overtime road win over the hapless Colts last time out.
The Cardinals will be making their home debut in this game and should have a pumped-up crowd behind them for this primetime affair. The Cowboys’ offense has yet to get on track this season and will face a tough Cardinals defense in this one. The team that wins that battle should have the leg up in this contest.
The Cowboys are the favorites to win the NFC East but they will hope to avoid a 1-2 start that would put them in a hole.
Kickoff for this regular season Week 3 game is set for Monday, September 25, 2017, at 8:30 p.m. ET at University of Phoenix Stadium.

Odds Analysis
The bettors aren’t scared off by Dallas’ poor play last week. They are the slight road favorites and more than 70 percent of the money is on the Cowboys to cover. The scoring total is pretty low since the Cardinals’ offense is struggling and its defense is playing stout. The bettors agree with that as more than 76 percent of the action has jumped on the “under.”
The Cardinals are +144 underdogs to win this game at home, and two-thirds of the early money is on them to pull the upset at those odds. Dallas is a -165 favorite.
Injury Report
Ezekiel Elliott - The Cowboys running back is healthy, but a six-game suspension continues to hang over his head as it goes through the appeals process. It seems unlikely a ruling is made before this game, which would allow Elliott to play. He had his worst game as a pro last time out against Denver and will look to bounce back against a strong Cardinals run defense.
Dak Prescott - The Dallas quarterback suffered an ankle injury in the loss to the Broncos. He is expected to play, but it could be a big development if the ailment limits Prescott at all. One of his special talents is the ability to move around in the pocket, and an ankle injury has the ability to rein him in.
John Brown - The Cardinals’ wide receiver continues to deal with a troublesome quadriceps injury that is expected to keep him out of this game. The Cardinals are already without star running back David Johnson due to a dislocated wrist, and the absence of Brown takes away two of the team’s top playmakers.
D.J. Humphries - The Arizona left tackle sprained his knee in the season opening loss to the Lions and is expected to miss this game. The Cardinals have had trouble in protection this season and it won’t help to have Humphries on the shelf. John Wetzel is expected to replace him in the lineup.
Player To Watch
Carson Palmer -- The Cardinals’ quarterback is tied for the league lead in interceptions this season with four. If he continues to turn the ball over in this one the Cardinals will have a tough time pulling out a win.
Palmer has thrown for 600 yards so he is moving the team down the field, but the results have not been there as of yet. Without Johnson running the ball the Cardinals are going to lean on their passing game for the foreseeable future. Palmer is 37 years old and if he continues to show his age the team the Cowboys should be able to take advantage.
Free ATS Pick
The Cowboys struggled mightily last time out but should have a better showing in this one. They are going on the road but have an offense that is good enough to put up some points. Dallas won’t need a bunch of scores as the Cardinals are struggling right now.
Take Dallas to win a low-scoring affair, with the “under” the correct call.
NFL Odds: Cowboys 24, Cardinals 20
