The Cowboys won 13 games last season and return most of the talent from that group. Quarterback Dak Prescott played well against the Giants and the defense flexed its muscle. Dallas is more well-rounded but the Broncos have an elite defense and the home field advantage, which is a solid combination.
This game is setting up to be a classic between a pair of teams that plan to make a postseason run in a couple of months.

Odds Analysis
This spread will be interesting. Dallas has the edge in personnel but must hit the road, so this could be pretty close to a pick ‘em. There is no line yet since Denver played on Monday night, but if either team gets more than just a couple points, ride the underdog because the outcome could go either way.
Look for a low scoring total since touchdowns figure to be in high demand in this matchup.
Injury Report
Ezekiel Elliott -- The Cowboys’ star running back isn’t injured but his six-game suspension still looms over his head. Elliott is currently contesting the ban and is allowed to play, which he did in Week 1. Elliott had 24 carries for 104 yards last time out and is one of the most talented running backs in the NFL, but if his suspension comes down he will be quickly sidelined. It is something to watch closely because a missing star could have a big impact on a game that might be close at the end.
Orlando Scandrick -- The Cowboys cornerback left the season opener against the Giants and didn’t return. The defense only gave up three points and the Broncos don’t have a big-time offense, but all hands on deck would be preferable. The Broncos boast a pair of talented receivers in Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders.
Player To Watch
Trevor Siemian -- The Broncos can only win this game if their signal-caller plays well. Siemian isn’t going to throw the ball all around the field but was efficient enough in Week 1, passing for 219 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.
The Cowboys shut down Eli Manning in the opener but aren’t known for having an elite defense. The Cowboys have a good offense and will likely put up some points even against the great Broncos defenders. Denver will need to make some big plays through the air in order to win this one.
Thomas and Sanders can make some moves after the catch, so Siemian just needs to put them in a good position to succeed.
Free ATS Pick
This is going to be an interesting showdown. The Cowboys have been among the best teams in the NFL since the beginning of last season and aim to keep it rolling. This is a tough matchup for them on the road and it could really tell a lot about both teams.
The Broncos’ run defense isn’t great, which could be the thing that tips this outcome. If Elliott plays and has a big day, Dallas should be able to go on the road and pick up an impressive victory over a potential playoff team.
Take the Cowboys on the moneyline, and the “under” may be the call depending on where the scoring total comes in.
NFL Odds: Cowboys 20, Broncos 17
