The Chiefs can stay a step ahead of everybody else in the AFC West with a win, but if Denver manages to pull the upset then all four teams -- the Raiders and Chargers are the others -- will be within shouting distance of the others.
Kansas City lost a heartbreaker to Oakland last time out and will aim to right the ship in a game in which it will be a strong favorite.
This contest in Week 8 of the regular season will go down Monday, October 30, 2017, at 5:30 p.m. ET at Arrowhead Stadium.

Odds Analysis
The Chiefs still have the belief of the oddsmakers as they have made them touchdown favorites in this matchup. The betting public is also convinced as nearly 70 percent of the action is on Kansas City to cover.
The scoring total is pretty low as both defenses are solid and each side will spend plenty of time running the ball. The “under” is the choice in more than 80 percent of the early action.
Injury Report
Charcandrick West -- The Chiefs’ running back is in the concussion protocol. Kareem Hunt has taken over as the lead running back but West is still a valuable piece for his blocking and pass-catching ability. It remains to be seen if he will be able to return quickly enough for this contest.
Emmanuel Sanders -- The Broncos’ standout wide receiver is dealing with an ankle injury and seems unlikely to play against Kansas City. That would be a big loss for a Denver team that is not great in the passing game already and now would be without one of the main weapons in that attack.
Donald Stephenson -- The Denver offensive tackle is dealing with a calf injury. He sat out last game and his availability for this one seems to be in doubt. The Chiefs have a formidable pass-rush so this is another key player that could have an impact on the game if he can or cannot play.
Matchup To Watch
Alex Smith vs. the Denver pass defense -- The Chiefs’ signal-caller has taken his game to another level in 2017. Smith has thrown for 1,979 yards with 15 touchdowns and zero interceptions on the season. Smith has completed an NFL-best 72.4 percent of his passes and will aim to keep it going int his contest.
It will be tough as the Broncos boast the best cornerback duo in the NFL in Aqib Talib and Chris Harris. Denver is also buoyed by a strong pass-rush, which is led by star outside linebacker Von Miller.
Smith has done a great job taking care of the ball throughout the season and that will be tested in this one against a ballhawking defense. If the Broncos can manage to disrupt Smith, it will give their team a chance at the upset.
Free ATS Pick
The Chiefs have lost two straight but they were right there in matchups against both the Steelers and the Raiders. They should be able to bounce back in this matchup.
The Broncos are great on defense but have had trouble scoring in recent weeks. They were shut out by the Chargers last time out and scored only 10 points the week before against the Giants. Denver is only averaging 18.0 points per game on the season and that won’t be enough against a Chiefs team that has a better offense. However, Denver will be the team that covers the spread.
NFL Odds: Chiefs 21, Broncos 17
