NFL ATS Picks - Denver Broncos at Philadelphia Eagles Game Preview

2017-NFL-Broncos-at-Eagles-CBS-preview-Betting-Lines

As the weeks go on, the Philadelphia Eagles are looking more and more like legitimate Super Bowl contenders. A 7-1 start has certainly turned a lot of heads, and Philadelphia will aim to keep it up when they host the Denver Broncos in Week 9 of the regular season.

The Broncos have an impressive defense that always gives them the ability to pull upsets, but the offense has struggled for much of the season. The Eagles are rolling on both sides of the ball and have the home field advantage, so they will certainly be favored in this matchup.

The Broncos could really use the win as they are in danger of falling behind in the playoff race. The Eagles, meanwhile, have their eye on the top seed in the NFC in the postseason and can inch closer with a win in this one.

This contest in Week 9 of the regular season will go down Sunday, November 5, 2017, at 2 p.m. ET at Lincoln Financial Field.

Odds Analysis

The Broncos played on “Monday Night Football” and lost to the Chiefs, and since the game happened so recently there isn’t yet a spread. The Eagles are certainly going to be the favorites in this game, but it remains to be seen how large.

Game predictors give Philadelphia about a 75 percent chance to win this game, which could be a sign of where the spread and the moneyline odds will come in. The Eagles have shown the ability to put up points but the scoring total in this one will likely be less than normal since both defenses are strong.

Injury Report

Jason Peters– The Eagles suffered a big blow a couple weeks ago when their star left tackle was lost for the season with a torn ACL. Peters is in his 30s but was still playing at a high level. Philadelphia’s offensive line has been strong all season but it remains to be seen if the loss of Peters will have a great effect.

Ronald Darby- The Eagles’ cornerback has been dealing with an ankle injury for several weeks. He was acquired from the Bills in the preseason and could be a key piece of the secondary but has been limited. He is getting healthier but his availability for this game is still up in the air.

Emmanuel Sanders - The Broncos’ standout wide receiver missed the loss to the Chiefs with an ankle injury. The Denver offense could use any playmaker it can get, and Sanders seems like he is trending in the right direction to play in this one.

Player To Watch

Trevor Siemian -- The Broncos’ signal-caller struggled badly last time out. He completed 19-of-36 passes for 198 yards with a touchdown and three interceptions in a 29-19 loss to the Chiefs. Siemian won the starting quarterback job out of training camp, beating out former first-round pick Paxton Lynch.

Siemian seems likely to start this game, but his leash could be short. Lynch is healthy not after dealing with an injury earlier in the year, while Brock Osweiler is on the roster as well after going 5-2 as a starter a few years ago with the Broncos.

Denver has an elite defense but it has fallen under .500 on the season because the passing game has gone in the tank. Siemian has to turn it around or he could find his way to the bench.

Free ATS Pick

The Eagles are dominating all comers of late and should keep it rolling against a talented but flawed Broncos team. Keep an eye on the spread, because Denver does have the ability to make it interesting.

The Broncos need to find some big plays on offense, but even just one long touchdown could be enough for this team to cover the spread. Philadelphia is too good to lose but this one could be close.

NFL Odds: Eagles 22, Broncos 17
