The Dallas Cowboys only lost three games all of last season and already have been defeated twice in their first four this year. They will aim to turn it around in Week 5 but have a tough matchup against the Green Bay Packers. These two teams met in the NFC Divisional Round a season ago, with Green Bay pulling off the upset.
The Packers have looked good early on and even though Dallas has had some issues, it still has a talented roster. The Cowboys are slight favorites based on the location but this game seems like it could go either way. Much will depend on the quarterbacks, as Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers and Dallas’ Dak Prescott are among the most talented signal-callers in the NFL.
Kickoff for this regular season Week 5 game is set for Sunday, October 8, 2017, at 4:25 p.m. ET at AT&T Stadium.

Green Bay Packers +2
Dallas Cowboys -2
Over/Under 52.5
Odds Analysis
This line is dropping, as the Packers are getting backed by the majority of bettors. More than 63 percent of the action is on Green Bay to cover this spread. The two points is enticing on Dallas’ side, though, as a field goal margin will now result in a cover if the Cowboys win.
The scoring total is high but the bettors don’t believe it’s high enough as the “over” is the more common choice, being chosen 58 percent of the time.
Injury Report
Davante Adams — The Packers wide receiver exited the game early against the Bears after Danny Trevathan delivered an illegal hit to the head in the third quarter. He left the game on a stretcher and was hospitalized, but luckily the injury wasn’t major. He stayed in the hospital for a couple days and will likely be brought back slowly by Green Bay.
Ty Montgomery — Green Bay’s running back left the game in the first quarter after suffering a chest injury. The 24-year-old told reporters he has several broken ribs. The Packers don’t have a great running game but Montgomery was decent running the ball and was a great pass receiver out of the backfield, so his loss will be felt.
Sean Lee — The Cowboys linebacker and one of team’s leading tacklers is out with a hamstring injury, but could return this week. Lee is the captain of the defense and his abilities are badly needed against Rodgers. Keep a close eye on his availability for this matchup.
Player To Watch
Ezekiel Elliott — The Cowboys running back’s appeal of his six-game suspension continues to wind its way through the courts. He is still eligible to play and is a critical piece in this game.
Elliott is one of the most talented runners in the NFL after bursting onto the scene as a rookie a year ago. The Packers have a great offense on the other side of things, so Dallas wants to control the game by establishing the running game.
Green Bay can be good against the run when it wants to, but the Cowboys have a great offensive line in front of Elliott. If he has a poor game in this one, the Cowboys could be ripe for the upset as they don’t want to make Prescott throw the ball a bunch.
Free ATS Pick
The Packers are banged up on offense but still have arguably the most talented quarterback in the NFL in Rodgers. He will keep this game close no matter what, but the Cowboys are better than they have shown in the earlygoing.
Dallas needs to win this game to avoid dropping under .500 on the season, and it will happen. Take the Cowboys to win this game and narrowly cover the spread.
NFL Odds: Cowboys 28, Packers 24
