The Rams lost a close one to the Seahawks last time out or they, too, would be in first place in their division. Both teams are 3-2 on the year and looking like playoff contenders after they both finished several games under .500 a season ago. This is an intriguing game between a pair of up-and-coming clubs that are built differently.
The Rams are excelling because young quarterback Jared Goff and running back Todd Gurley are playing really well, while the Jaguars look good because of a strong defense.

The oddsmakers believe the talent level is even between these teams, with the Jaguars getting the three points because of the home field advantage. More than 58 percent of the action is on Jacksonville after its impressive upset of the Steelers on Sunday.
The scoring total is low because of the play of the defenses, and the “under” is still the more popular choice.
Matchup To Watch
Goff against the Jaguars defense. Goff will be looking to shake off last week’s performance against the Seahawks where he recorded a season-low completion percentage of 46.8 and threw two interceptions, but he’ll have to do it against a defense that’s dominating this season.
The Rams rank No. 2 in the league, averaging 30.1 points per game, and one that is averaging 271.2 passing yards a game behind Goff. They have the firepower to test Jacksonville this week, especially with a weapon like Gurley in the backfield.
The Jaguars, on the other hand, finished with five interceptions against the Steelers, including two pick sixes. This defense has recorded 20 quarterback sacks in the first five games including 10 in one game against the Houston Texans in the season opener.
Defensive tackle Calais Campbell leads the team with six sacks while defensive ends Yannick Ngakoue and Dante Fowler Jr. have four a piece.

165.2. That’s how many rushing yards a game the Jaguars are averaging behind rookie running back Leonard Fournette. Jacksonville currently ranks first in the NFL for rushing yards per game.
Fournette turned in a career-high performance in the Jaguars win over the Steelers on Sunday. He carried the ball 28 times for 181 yards and two touchdowns including a 90-yard touchdown run.
The former LSU star has been spectacular so far for Jacksonville.
