The 49ers have a legitimate shot at their first win of the season in this game, and it will be interesting to see if new quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo starts at quarterback. San Francisco traded for the promising signal-caller last week but he watched from the sideline in his first game with the 49ers.
San Francisco isn’t expected to rush Garoppolo into the job, so it’s possible C.J. Beathard remains the quarterback in this matchup. The Giants have a veteran quarterback in Eli Manning but few weapons around him.
This contest in Week 10 of the regular season will go down Sunday, November 12, 2017, at 4:25 p.m. ET at Levi’s Stadium.

New York Giants -1
San Francisco 49ers +1
Over/Under 42
Odds Analysis
This one is a virtual toss-up between a pair of beleaguered teams. The Giants’ defense is the best unit on the field but the 49ers do get the home field advantage. More than 65 percent of the action is on New York to cover this spread and pick up its second win of the year in nine attempts.
The scoring total is pretty low as each offense could struggle. The “under” has been wagered on heavily, with 79 percent of the action holding the belief that these teams will fail to put up points.
Injury Report
Joe Staley -- The 49ers left tackle has an eye injury that kept him out of the team’s Week 9 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, and he is doubtful for this game. The San Francisco offensive line is beat up overall, and the absence of one of their best players would not be a welcome development.
Reuben Foster -- The 49ers’ rookie linebacker missed a few plays on Sunday as he aggravated an ankle injury that has bothered him most of the season. He did return to the game and finished with 14 tackles. Foster should be able to play in this one.
Janoris Jenkins -- The Giants’ standout cornerback is not injured, but he was suspended for the team’s most recent game. Jenkins’ absence may have played a role in the team giving up 51 points to the Rams last time out. He has been reinstated and should be ready to go for this one. Jenkins is the second New York cornerback to be suspended by the Giants this season, after Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie faced similar punishment earlier in the year.
Key Stat
One. That’s the combined win total between these teams and also the lead in the win column by the Giants over the 49ers in the standings. Both are out of the playoff race and now the more interesting thing will be watching how this affects the NFL draft.
The 49ers and the Cleveland Browns are winless at this point while the Giants have the third-worst record at 1-7. While this contest won’t be very exciting, it could have huge ramifications on the pecking order in the draft.
The Giants could be in the market for a quarterback of the future, and a loss would get them in the conversation for the No. 1 overall pick, depending on how the rest of the season goes.
Free ATS Pick
The 49ers have shown some fight at times this season but are really ravaged by injuries at this point, and the losses are taking their toll. If Garoppolo plays it will definitely be a spark, but the feeling is that he sits at least one more game while getting acquainted with the offense.
If it’s Beathard at the reins, the Giants’ defense should be able to control that matchup and New York will leave with a victory.
NFL Odds: Giants 23, 49ers 20
