NFL ATS Picks - Oakland Raiders at Tennessee Titans Game Preview

NFL ATS Picks – Oakland Raiders at Tennessee Titans

Tennessee also took a big step forward last season and has their own promising quarterback in Marcus Mariota. The Raiders are a more talented club but don’t sleep on this Titans team. They are playing in front of their crowd and will have a good shot of winning as each team aims to get off to a fast start.

Kickoff for this regular season Week 1 game is set for Sunday, September 10, 2017, at 1 p.m. ET at Nissan Stadium.

Odds Analysis

The Raiders are slight underdogs since they are on the road, but nearly 54 percent of the early action is choosing them to cover this spread. It’s a tough spread since a loss by a field goal wouldn’t result in a cover, but the Raiders could also win this one straight up.

The scoring total is pretty high compared to most of the Week 1 matchups, and the bettors think it’s too high since 86.4 percent of the money has come in on the “under” thus far.

Injury Report

David Amerson -- The Raiders cornerback was involved in a scary collision in the third preseason game and was placed in the concussion protocol. Early updates seem favorable that the concussion was minor and that he will be ready for the opener against Tennessee. The Titans don’t have a super explosive passing game but could throw more if Amerson can’t play.

Corey Davis -- The Titans’ first-round pick has been dealing with a hamstring injury in the preseason but is expected to play against Oakland. Davis’ presence is important since fellow wideouts Harry Douglas and Tajae Sharpe have both been placed on injured reserve. Davis and Eric Decker were added this offseason in order to beef up the pass-catching weapons for Mariota.

Matchup to Watch

Which Offensive Line Will Dominate? -- While they won’t face off against each other, Oakland and Tennessee boast two of the better offensive lines in football. The Raiders have a new running back in Marshawn Lynch, and if he can crank out consistent yardage behind the stellar line, it will give Oakland a great chance at pulling the upset.

Jack Conklin and Taylor Lewan are a pair of recent draft picks who have really solidified the offensive line for the Titans. If Mariota is given more responsibility this season and allowed to open up the offense, it will be incumbent on the pass protection to give him time.

Raiders pass-rusher Khalil Mack is one of the most dominant players in the NFL, and if he registers a couple of sacks in this matchup it could hurt Tennessee chances of defending its home turf.

Free ATS Pick

It’s a small surprise that the Titans are favored in this one. Even though the Raiders probably weren’t as good as their record suggested last season, they have a lot of talented young pieces like Carr, Mack and wideout Amari Cooper. The addition of Lynch was big and the team looks poised to push for a high seed in the playoffs.

The Titans are hoping to win their division but might not be quite ready to contend in the AFC. The Raiders are the easy choice with this spread, as they should win the game outright. Take a look at the moneyline once it’s released as it could be a nice payday for a team that has a good shot at pulling the road upset.

NFL Odds: Raiders 27, Titans 23
