The Redskins are about a .500 team, and the home field advantage should give them a good chance of winning this game. The Raiders are slight favorites in this one but it could definitely go either way. It is too early in the season to consider Oakland a legitimate championship contender but this game could further clear that up depending how they fare.
Washington has designs of making the playoffs and should be able to put up a good fight.
Kickoff for this regular season Week 3 game is set for Sunday, September 24, 2017, at 8:30 p.m. ET at FedEx Field.

Odds Analysis
The betting public is all over the Raiders to cover in this one, as about 80 percent of the action is on Oakland. The scoring total is higher than most games this week but the bettors don’t think it is high enough, as the “over” is getting more than 82 percent of the money thus far.
The Redskins are an intriguing moneyline bet at +144 at home, and more than 85 percent of the money is headed that way. The Raiders are a -165 favorite.
Injury Report
Jordan Reed -- The Redskins’ star tight end was dealing with a foot injury to begin the year and then suffered a chest contusion last week against the Rams. He didn’t practice on Wednesday and his status should become clearer as the week goes along. The Redskins lost two of their star receivers this offseason and Reed is the safety valve for quarterback Kirk Cousins, so he is a critical piece.
Mason Foster -- The Redskins linebacker helped clinch last week’s victory over the Rams with a late interception, but he was limited on Wednesday with a shoulder injury. Washington will need all hands on deck defensively, and his injury is one to watch.
Amari Cooper -- The Raiders’ wideout was limited in practice on Wednesday with a knee injury. It seems likely he plays, but watch this one closely. Cooper is a very talented pass-catcher and any limitations on him would be a big blow to Oakland.
Player To Watch
Derek Carr -- The Raiders quarterback has been fantastic in the earlygoing. He is 45-of-60 for 492 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions. The competition hasn’t been super tough, and the Redskins aren’t great defensively, either.
Oakland has an impressive array of offensive players. The line is one of the best in the NFL, while Cooper and Michael Crabtree make a nice 1-2 punch at wideout. Marshawn Lynch has returned to the NFL and not skipped a beat at running back. Carr is a burgeoning star and he has a lot of help.
If he has a big game, Oakland will have a great shot at capturing this game despite playing away from home.
Free ATS Pick
The Raiders have a great offense, but their defense is still suspect. Watch for Cousins to have a big game as well, and this one seems like a legitimate toss-up. The Redskins are at home and have some talented pieces. This spread is too high in a game that either side can win.
Choose Washington to cover, for sure, and its odds on the moneyline is too good to pass up. The “over” is the correct call as this one should be a shootout.
NFL Odds: Redskins 30, Raiders 28
