The Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl hopes took a huge blow last time out. The game result was good, as they picked up a critical win over the Rams. But the injury news was horrific, as star quarterback Carson Wentz was lost for the rest of the season with a torn ACL. The Eagles can still get the top seed in the conference with a strong finish, and will be the road favorites in Week 15 against the New York Giants.
It’s never ideal to use a backup quarterback, but Philadelphia has a pretty good one in Nick Foles. He will aim to keep the ship steady as Philadelphia has plenty of talent elsewhere on the roster to remain competitive. New York has its starting quarterback in Eli Manning but has been hit hard by injuries elsewhere in a disappointing season.
The Giants have already fired coach Ben McAdoo and are simply playing out the string. They would love to be a spoiler in this one but it won’t be easy.
This matchup in Week 15 of the regular season will take place on Sunday, December 17, 2017, at 1 p.m. ET at MetLife Stadium.

Odds Analysis
The Eagles are such a talented team that they are listed as better-than touchdown favorites despite being on the road and with a backup quarterback under center. The majority of the money coming in is on the Giants, with 57 percent of the action heading their way to cover a sizable spread at home.
The scoring total is low, and the “over” is the more popular choice, with nearly 70 percent of the action jumping on that side of it.
Injury Report
Zach Ertz — The Eagles don’t have Wentz, but they are mostly healthy everywhere else. Ertz is one of the league’s best tight ends and it would be a big boost if he can play in this one, but he is still dealing with a concussion. Ertz seems like he is on a path toward playing in this one, but keep an eye on that development.
Eli Apple — The Giants’ young cornerback has struggled on the field this year and is dealing with hip and back issues that have sidelined him recently. Apple seems healthy enough to play in this one, but he is in the doghouse in New York again for Tweeting during the game on Sunday when he was inactive against the Cowboys.
Stefen Wisniewski — The Philadelphia guard is dealing with an ankle injury, but he is expected to practice on Wednesday, which should have him on line to play in this contest.
Player To Watch
Foles — The veteran signal-caller had a fantastic season for the Eagles back in 2013, but has never been able to duplicate those numbers, and has more recently been a second-stringer. He now gets a great chance to lead this team into the playoffs, and the hope is the Eagles can still make the Super Bowl.
Foles has only thrown 14 passes this season, completing 10 of them for 98 yards. He has a career quarterback rating of 88.1, which is better than some starters in the league. The Eagles will try not to force him to do too much.
The team has a strong running game led by Jay Ajayi, while the defense has been one of the NFL’s best on the year. If Foles can take care of the ball and make accurate throws in critical situations, this team has some high-end potential.
Free ATS Pick
The Giants aren’t a good team this season, but have a lot of points to play with in this one. Foles is a decent quarterback who could look really good in this matchup. The defense should lead the way for Philadelphia, but look for Foles to have an impressive first outing against a New York defense that doesn’t have much motivation any longer in 2017.
Take the Eagles to cover this spread even though it is high. The “over” is the choice as Philadelphia is going to put up some points in this one, even without Wentz.
NFL Odds: Eagles 30, Giants 20
