NFL ATS Picks - San Francisco 49ers at Philadelphia Eagles Game Preview

49ers-at-Eagles-(FOX)

The Eagles are at home and looking really impressive, while the 49ers are among the worst teams in the NFL. Philadelphia is a substantial favorite and wants to wrap this one up early and cruise. San Francisco has stayed close in the vast majority of its games despite a winless record but is going to have a tough time keeping this margin under double digits.

Watch this regular season Week 8 matchup live on Sunday, October 29, 2017, at 1 p.m. ET at Lincoln Financial Field.

Odds Analysis

The Eagles played on Monday night so there is no line quite yet, but rest assured Philadelphia will be a sizable favorite based on the way it has performed this season. The Eagles could be favored by more than single-digits because of their talent advantage and because of the home field.

The scoring total will likely be middle of the road. Philadelphia’s offense is clicking right now but the 49ers won’t score a lot, which could keep the total down.

Injury Report

Jason Peters -- The Eagles’ star left tackle injured his right knee in the Monday night game against the Redskins. Peters has been a rock on the blindside for years but was carted off the field and the injury looked serious. He seems likely to miss significant time, and even if the injury is less severe than thought, he almost certainly won’t play in this contest.

Ronald Darby -- The Philadelphia cornerback is still dealing with an ankle injury and missed another game against Washington. He did return to practice last week and is on the comeback trail. Darby would be a nice piece moving forward, although he wouldn’t necessarily be needed in this one.

Mychal Kendricks -- The Eagles linebacker surprisingly missed the game against the Redskins with a hamstring injury. He seems likely to be back for this one but was also supposed to play in Week 7. The Philadelphia defense is dealing with several injuries but is still playing at a high level.

Reuben Foster -- The 49ers’ rookie linebacker looked good early before missing several games with an ankle sprain. He is back and looking to make a big impact this season. San Francisco recently released veteran stalwart NaVorro Bowman so Foster will definitely be counted on heavily in the middle of the defense.

Player to Watch

Carson Wentz -- The Eagles quarterback has taken a huge leap forward this season. He diced up the Redskins on Monday and has been one of the best signal-callers in the entire NFL this season. Wentz is only in his second year but clearly has the look of a franchise quarterback.

The Eagles got better offensively this offseason by adding running back LeGarrette Blount, wide receiver Alshon Jeffery and wide receiver Torrey Smith, but it’s Wentz who has really been the reason why the unit is clicking so well.

The 49ers have a strong defensive line and it must get pressure or else Wentz will be posed to put together another great performance.

Free ATS Pick

The 49ers are not as bad as their 0-7 record suggests as they could easily have a few wins this season. However, they are running into a juggernaut in this matchup. The Eagles have the look of a contender nearly midway through the season and will make another statement in this one.

The spread is going to be big but Philadelphia should still be able to cover. Check the scoring total because the Eagles’ offense could fly high in this matchup.

NFL Odds: Eagles 31, 49ers 16
