The Saints will host the Buccaneers in Week 9 as they aim to put another ‘W’ in the win column. Tampa Bay is already close to being too far out of playoff contention and needs a turnaround in the worst way. The Buccaneers will look for the upset but it won’t be easy.
This contest in Week 9 of the regular season will go down Sunday, November 5, 2017, at 2 p.m. ET at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Odds Analysis
The Saints are solid home favorites in this matchup. The early action is pretty well split, as the Saints are getting about 53 percent of the bets to cover this spread. The Buccaneers are struggling but they do have some talent, so it’s a tough call.
The scoring total is pretty high as the bettors are expecting a shootout as the vast majority of early action is on the “over.”
Injury Report
Jameis Winston – The Buccaneers’ quarterback has been dealing with a shoulder injury that he suffered a few weeks ago against the Cardinals. Winston played on Sunday against the Panthers but fared poorly. He was 21-of-38 passing for 210 yards with no touchdowns and a pair of interceptions. If Winston is still hurt it will be hard for Tampa Bay to keep up.
Noah Spence -- The Buccaneers edge-rusher was placed on injured reserve with a dislocated shoulder. He was a top draft pick a few seasons ago and would have been useful attempting to get to Drew Brees, but Tampa Bay will have to rely on others for pressure.
Larry Warford -- The Saints’ guard missed Sunday’s win over the Bears with an abdomen injury. When Brees has time he dices up defenses, and the offensive line has done a solid job this season. Warford’s absence wouldn’t affect the spread but New Orleans would love to have him.
Key Stat
Five. That’s the number of consecutive wins the Saints have reeled off. They began the season 0-2 and there were worries that Brees’ tenure with the team was coming to a sad end. Instead, New Orleans has picked it up in a big way.
The Saints got their first win of the season with a road win over the Panthers and then got to .500 by shutting out the Dolphins. New Orleans has followed that up with wins over the Lions, Packers and Bears to push to the top of the division.
The offense has been as advertised and the defense has stepped up in a big way. That unit has always been the weak link but it has given up 17 points or fewer in four of the five victories.
Free ATS Pick
The Buccaneers will likely need to score points in bunches to pull out this upset. It seems like that could be too much to ask against a Saints defense that is playing well. Brees is likely going to put up big numbers as he usually does at home.
The spread is sizable but don’t be afraid to ride the Saints. They could win this one easily against a Buccaneers team that is in a tailspin. Take New Orleans to cover the spread while the “over” is the right call in a game that is going to see a bevy of big plays. New Orleans should stay atop the division by taking care of business in this one.
NFL Odds: Saints 33, Buccaneers 21
