NFL ATS Picks - Tennessee Titans at Indianapolis Colts Game Preview

2017-NFL-Titans-at-Colts-(CBS)-preview-Bet-Online

The Tennessee Titans were taken to the woodshed last time out by the Pittsburgh Steelers, proving that they aren’t quite among the elite in the AFC. Tennessee is still in good shape to make the playoffs with a strong finish, and a road win over the struggling Indianapolis Colts in Week 12 would go a long way toward fulfilling that goal.

Indianapolis has had trouble being competitive in most game this season due to the absence of Andrew Luck, but may be able to keep this one close at home. The Titans can’t afford to let a game like this slip away and should be favored to take care of business in an AFC South showdown.

This contest in Week 12 of the regular season will go down Sunday, November 26, 2017, at 1 p.m. ET at Lucas Oil Field.

Odds Analysis

There is no spread yet for this game. Computer models give the Titans about a 67 percent chance of winning this game, and the spread will likely follow that thinking, positing Tennessee as the slight road favorite.

The scoring total could be lower than most NFL games as both teams’ offenses will be content to run the ball and keep the possessions long, while the defenses won’t want to give up big plays.

Injury Report

Brian Orakpo — The Titans’ veteran linebacker suffered a leg injury in last Thursday’s loss to the Steelers. He was listed as questionable following the loss, but early reports indicate that the injury is not serious. Orakpo is a four-time Pro Bowler. He’ll have some extra time to heal this week because of the Thursday night game.

Vontae Davis — The Colts released their most talented cornerback after a tumultuous few weeks with the club. Davis is injured but there seemed to be some friction with the team and eventually he was released. It may be a good thing in the long run if he was becoming a headache, but it no doubt hurts a secondary which is already missing standout safety Malik Hooker.

Key Stat

4. That’s how many interceptions Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota threw last time out in the blowout loss to Pittsburgh. While he made some good plays, the errors were too much as the Steelers cruised to the win.

Mariota has been dealing with hamstring issues this season but looked pretty mobile against Pittsburgh. It was his arm that was the problem, and tossing interceptions is not something he usually does often.

The Titans are hoping to grab the lead early in this one so they can use the running game and play-action for successful drives. Mariota has a lot of talent and should be able to bounce back in this contest, especially against a Colts defense which has nowhere near the type of talent that the Steelers were running out there last week.

Free ATS Pick

Tennessee has the talent to win this game, but keep an eye on the spread. The Colts are at home and aren’t a drastically inferior team when the location is added into the equation.

The Titans have much more to play for this season as they are just a game behind the Jacksonville Jaguars in the division and are right in the wild card mix. The Colts are aiming to play spoiler but don’t quite have the horses to pull it off.

Keep an eye on the spread in this one. Even though the Titans are the team that will emerge victorious, the Colts are the team that could cover if Tennessee ends up being too big of a favorite. Check the scoring total as well, as this one could be more of a defensive battle than people expect.

NFL Odds: Titans 19, Colts 17
