The Seattle Seahawks may not be playing like the same juggernaut of old, but they are still playing pretty well. Seattle found a way to win against the Texans last time out and will aim to keep it rolling in Week 9 when they host the Washington Redskins.
Seattle is battling with surprising upstart the Los Angeles Rams for NFC West supremacy and can’t afford many slip-ups. The Redskins have fallen back of late and badly needs an upset to get to 4-4 and remain in the playoff hunt.
This is a huge game for both sides. The Seahawks will be solid favorites to take care of business at home.
This contest in Week 9 of the regular season will go down Sunday, November 5, 2017, at 5:05 p.m. ET at CenturyLink Stadium.

Odds Analysis
The Seahawks were five-point favorites last time out and almost got upset by the Texans before they won, but didn’t cover. They are larger favorites in this one, and the bettors still like the number as more than 64 percent of the action is on Seattle to cover.
The scoring total is middle of the pack as both offenses can put up points. The “over” is the more popular choice, as more than 77 percent of the money believes the points will be coming regularly in this matchup.
Injury Report
Jordan Reed – The Redskins’ star tight end hurt his hamstring last time out against the Cowboys. He does not seem likely to play in this one, but check on his availability to see if that prognosis improves. Reed is one of the team’s main options on offense and is a big loss.
Brandon Scherff- The Redskins’ guard was inactive on Sunday against the Cowboys with a knee injury. He is an important piece on the offensive line and his availability is unknown. Scherff and Reed are two of the most notable injures but Washington has a ton of key players battling various ailments, and it could affect the line and outcome of this one.
Earl Thomas - The Seahawks tight end is dealing with a hamstring issue. He gave up a long touchdown early against the Texans but rebounded for a pick-six later in the first quarter. Thomas will likely be hobbled but is expected to play in this one. Thomas is one of the best safeties in the NFL and is a huge piece to Seattle’s vaunted Legion of Boom secondary.
Trade Addition
The Seahawks beefed up their porous offensive line on Monday when they dealt for Pro Bowl left tackle Duane Brown. Seattle sent cornerback Jeremy Lane, a second-round pick and a fifth-round pick to the Texans in the deal, so it cost quite a bit, but there is no doubt it is an upgrade for this game.
Brown held out of the first six games of the season with Houston because of a contract dispute before returning last week. He hopes to help stabilize a Seattle offensive line that has been the team’s biggest weak spot for the past couple of seasons.
Quarterback Russell Wilson has mobility, so pressure doesn’t always mean the end of the world in the passing game, but the running game has struggled because the line hasn’t been able to create holes. Brown could help in both protection and the run game.
Free ATS Pick
The Redskins are a solid team but haven’t been playing too well of late. Luckily, they get the benefit of a rather large spread. The Seahawks aren’t the same dominant team they used to be.
Seattle should be able to grab a win but it’s going to be closer than expected. The half-point is important because the Redskins could fall by a touchdown and still cover. This game is going to be more of a nail-biter than that.
NFL Odds: Seahawks 24, Redskins 20
