The Baltimore Ravens will have a different look to their offense in 2015. But they still have Joe Flacco, the most underrated quarterback in the NFL.

Former Bears head coach Marc Trestman takes over as offensive coordinator and looks to improve a roster that lost some key pieces. Playmaking receivers Torrey Smith and Jacoby Jones both left the team, but the draft brought Breshad Perriman and tight end Maxx Williams.

Williams is the most talented tight end in the rookie class and his selection suggests there are concerns about Dennis Pitta’s future. And if Perriman can stop dropping balls the Ravens scored a top 10 talent.

We don’t always link offense and the Ravens together, but they were potent last season thanks to Flacco. An offensive line that returns intact is a great start for Trestman in his first year and the team has more weapons at Flacco’s disposal.

One of these years, attrition is going to catch up to the Ravens’ defense. The unit has been bleeding starters over the past few offseasons – whether to free agency, retirement or even trades – yet that unit hasn’t lost much on the field.

Unable to sign defensive lineman Haloti Ngata to an extension, the Ravens traded him to Detroit. That move opens a big opportunity for Timmy Jernigan, who stood out in limited work last season.

The loss of linebacker Pernell McPhee also hurts, but with two of the toughest pass rushers in Terrell Suggs and Elvis Dumervil. The Ravens also have the best inside linebacker in football in C.J. Mosley and their defense could be better than last year’s top 10 unit.

The Ravens simply roll on, having responded well to their losses. But they play in the most competitive AFC division where toughness is a necessity. With superb coaching and a personnel department that keeps the talent coming, Baltimore will again battle for AFC North supremacy.

KEY ADDITIONS: S Kendrick Lewis, CB Kyle Arrington, QB Matt Schaub.

KEY LOSSES: DL Haloti Ngata, LB Pernell McPhee, WR Torrey Smith, TE Owen Daniels, S Darian Stewart, WR/KR Jacoby Jones, NT Terrence Cody, WR Bernard Pierce.

Baltimore fields a solid unit, but unfortunately the Ravens are the second-most talented team in the division. While the schedule looks tough, there are plenty of pieces in place for the unit to mesh and collect enough wins to secure a spot in the playoffs.
