NFL Odds - Chicago Bears Odds To Win Super Bowl 52

Bears-Odds-To-Win-Super-Bowl-bm

Chicago is in clear rebuilding mode and is among the teams with the longest odds to win this year’s title. If the Bears can manage an unforeseen turnaround, it will clearly be on the shoulders of a quarterback. Mike Glennon will get the start to begin the year after he was added in free agency, but don’t sleep on Mitchell Trubisky. The No. 2 overall pick in the draft has high upside and could be the only possible way the Bears completely outperform expectations in 2017.

Key Factors For Winning the Super Bowl

Mitchell Trubisky – The rookie only played one year of college football, and that was a major red flag heading into the draft. The Bears clearly weren’t scared off, as they moved up a spot in the draft to lock down a player they believe will be their franchise cornerstone for years to come. Trubisky was really impressive last year at the University of North Carolina, throwing for 3,748 yards with 30 touchdowns and six interceptions. Most expect him to have a significant learning curve heading into the NFL. Glennon will start the year, but if Trubisky outperforms him in practice and Chicago struggles early, this could quickly become the youngster’s team. The most likely outcome is some struggles, but Dak Prescott hit the ground running for the Cowboys a year ago and Trubisky would love to do the same.

Youngsters Become Stars -- Running back Jordan Howard showed a lot of potential in 2016, rushing for 1,313 yards and six touchdowns while averaging a robust 5.2 yards per carry. He is a huge piece, as the Bears could really push up their ceiling with a strong running game throughout the season. Chicago, though, has big questions in the passing game. Alshon Jeffery departed in free agency, and former first-round pick Kevin White needs to step in and be a go-to guy. On defense, another high pick, Leonard Floyd, will aim to become an upper-tier pass-rusher. He had seven sacks a year ago and will aim to get into double-digits in 2017.

A Rash Of Other Injuries -- Let’s be frank. The Bears don’t have the type of talent to truly compete for a Super Bowl. Their only way to make the playoffs would be if some of the best teams fell off completely. So if Aaron Rodgers and Dak Prescott and Matt Ryan and Julio Jones and Russell Wilson go down for the year, maybe, just maybe, the Bears can sniff the postseason. But let’s be real. Leicester was a movie-type finish, somehow putting it all together against unfathomable offs for the title. Chicago is not going to do the same. The Bears may one day win the Super Bowl if Trubisky becomes a franchise signal-caller, but that’s not going to be the case in 2017. There are way too many holes on the roster.
