Week 2 of the 2016 NFL season looks like it’s going to be a doozy with a plethora of key divisional matchups.

But there is none bigger than the rematch between AFC North rivals Pittsburgh and Cincinnati, who staged a bloodbath in last season’s playoff game.

NFL GAMES OF THE WEEK

Bengals at Steelers – Sunday, September 18, 1 p.m. ET (CBS)

The Vontaze Burfict Game will take place with Vontaze Burfict on the sideline. Of course, the Steelers-Bengals playoff game last season got a little crazy, as Burfict tried to remove Antonio Brown’s head from his body with an incredibly dirty hit. Add in a Steelers assistant coach yanking the departed Reggie Nelson’s dreadlocks and the divisional hatred these teams have for each other to begin with, and this Week 2 showdown should be whole lot of fun.

Hopefully the tension between the two clubs has calmed a bit and a football game is played. A bitter division clash early in the year could go long way toward determining where these teams stack up at the end of the season. And both are expected to be in the hunt for an AFC North title and a playoff spot.

49ers at Panthers – Sunday, September 18, 1 p.m. ET (FOX)

The defending NFC Champions can wipe out plenty of painful memories from last season’s Super Bowl experience. After opening at Denver in a rematch of SB50, the Panthers host the tenant of the stadium where they fell in February. Carolina was positioned as an 11.5-point favorite in the early lines against the Niners, one of four games in which the Panthers are double-digit chalk.

While the 49ers might be better than their 5-win season from a year ago, the oddsmakers aren’t giving them much of a chance against the Panthers. Carolina was the only team to go undefeated at home last season, outscoring their opponents by an average of 16 points per game in Charlotte.

Seahawks at Rams – Sunday, September 18, 4:05 p.m. ET (FOX)

Don’t tell the Rams you can’t go home. It’s been 21 years since the team bolted for St. Louis with the promise of greener pastures – and more green in the owners’ bank account. After being without a team in the second-largest media market, the NFL approved the relocation of the St. Louis Rams back to Los Angeles.

While the Rams wait for their new $2 billion Disneyland-style stadium to be built, it’s back to the Memorial Coliseum. The born-again Los Angeles Rams, who played in the Coliseum from 1946 to 1979, host the Seahawks in the first regular season NFL game in Los Angeles since both the Raiders and Rams departed the City of Angles following the 1994 season.
