NFL GAMES OF THE WEEK

Texans at Broncos – Monday, October 24, 8:30 p.m. ET (ESPN)

This became a must-see game the minute Brock Osweiler bolted Denver for Houston’s four-year, $72 million offer in free agency. Osweiler had been the heir apparent to Peyton Manning at quarterback for the for Broncos, and his departure left Denver scrambling after Manning decided to hang it up after guiding the Broncs to victory in Super Bowl 50.

Throw in a potential J.J. Watt versus Mark Sanchez matchup and the fact Broncos coach Gary Kubiak will be facing the team he coached for eight years before getting canned after the 2013 season, and this one looks like a winner.

Patriots at Steelers – Sunday, October 23, 4:25 p.m. ET (CBS)

The Pats and Steelers may be the two best teams in the AFC and that alone makes this one worth watching. No matter who New England runs on the field, the Patriots are always a solid pick in the AFC because of Tom Brady and coach Bill Belichick. The torch may soon be passed and Pittsburgh would gladly accept.

The Steelers feature a host of dynamic offensive play-makers and pose as one of the few legitimate threats to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. A showdown with Brady and the Pats will be a stiff test. But Pittsburgh gets the game on its home field, which should help the Steelers in their bid to notch a victory.

Seahawks at Cardinals – Sunday, October 23, 8:30 p.m. ET (NBC)

After watching two of the AFC’s best clash in a late Sunday afternoon contest, two of the best in the NFC take the primetime stage when the Cards host the Seahawks. Arizona has built a team good enough to challenge Seattle annually for the NFC West crown.

Arizona strengthened its already stout defense by trading for pass-rusher Chandler Jones, while Seattle’s biggest moves have been losses: the retirement of Marshawn Lynch and offensive lineman Russell Okung signing with Denver. The Cards claimed the division title last year and want to stay ahead of the Seahawks this NFL season.
