Having the league’s MVP and best quarterback in the biz Aaron Rodgers on the Green Bay sideline makes the Pack the favorite to take another NFC North title and battle with the Seahawks to represent the NFC in Super Bowl 50.

When you’re an onside kick recovery away from playing in the Super Bowl, it’s best not to overreact. The Packers did just that and it makes perfect sense. Green Bay re-signed its own group of veterans and got additional help in the draft while maintaining a solid roster.

Green Bay did the smart stuff we’ve come to expect from the Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy regime, re-signing receiver Randall Cobb, tackle Brian Bulaga, fullback John Kuhn, nose tackle B.J Raji and end Letroy Guion and getting help in the secondary in the draft with the additions of Damarious Randall and Quinten Rollins.

Rodgers, Cobb and Jordy Nelson are the three that make the offense click, but the one player who seems to have Green Bay buzzing is second year receiver Davante Adams, who Rodgers has been especially complimentary of.

As good as the Packers starters are there are huge questions across the board with it comes to depth. Many of the spots are filled by young players who haven’t seen much playing time making the health of the roster vitally important.

The release of linebacker A.J. Hawk signaled the end of an era in Green Bay but the move also made the Pack a stronger defensive unit. The decision to move Clay Matthews inside along with Sam Barrington improves the team at that position.

The line remains a question mark with Raji returning from a lost 2014 season and Guion getting pushed around up front, but the Pack has a budding star in Mike Daniels to plug the gap on the right side.

The Pack will light it up again in 2015 and get enough from the defense to distance themselves from a mediocre rest of the field in the NFC North. They still haven’t lived up to their multiple Super Bowl potential, but Green Bay will make it five consecutive division titles.

KEY ADDITIONS: DB Damarious Randall (R), CB Quinten Rollins (R), WR Ty Montgomery (R), LB Jake Ryan (R), QB Brett Hundley (R).

KEY LOSSES: LB Brad Jones, CB Davon House, LB A.J. Hawk, CB Tramon Williams.

Based on BookMaker’s NFL odds to win the NFC North, the Packers are the favorite and should be in a division that has three other rebuilding teams. Don’t be surprised to see the Pack knocking on the door of a trip to Super Bowl 50.
