NFL Odds - New England Patriots at New York Giants Live Betting Preview

Patriots-at-Giants-Picks

The New England Patriots haven't been challenged by all that many teams in this recent run of success under Bill Belichick. However, if you look up the word "kryptonite" in the dictionary, you're going to see a picture of the New York Giants logo right next to Pat the Patriot. These two haven't met since the Super Bowl four years ago, and you can bet the game is going to have a little extra pizzazz to it.

ODDS ANALYSIS

The Patriots, in spite of all of their troubles against these Giants, are still laying a full touchdown on the road, making them the biggest road favorites on the Week 10 docket.

If this is any indication, be prepared to see the point spread move quite a bit in live betting with each passing score. Last week against Washington, New England was all the way up at +26.5 in the first quarter of a 14-0 game, a spread which, as we came to find out, ended up being a tad ridiculous.

The total is the highest of the week at 54, and it's the highest opening number we've seen in a game in 2015.

WHEN THE NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS HAVE THE BALL

Live bettors think that New England is scoring every time it touches the football. It's really tough to argue with the Patriots as having a great offense, but they've got some problems, too.

Dion Lewis is very likely out for a long period of time after suffering what looked to be a nasty ankle injury last week, and he's the latest in a long line of offensive casualties. Remember that New England has started using a tight end at right tackle due to its lack of healthy offensive lineman, and that problem isn't going to be fixed any time in the near future.

The Giants don't have a good secondary, but they do seem to have the answers for the short passing game which New England is going to bring to the table. There seems to be a book on how to beat the Pats, that being jamming up the line of scrimmage and getting some pass rushers in Tom Brady's face.

It's easier said than done, but now that Jason Pierre-Paul is back, the Giants have the right pieces to make it all come together.

WHEN THE NEW YORK GIANTS HAVE THE BALL

New England's corners won't have any answers for Odell Beckham Jr. He had yet another 100+ yard game last week against Tampa Bay, and we can't see Malcolm Butler or any of these other corners sticking with him.

The key is going to be protecting Eli Manning, something which has been a bit of a chore this year for Tom Coughlin's bunch. The Giants have already proven they don't need offensive balance to stay success, as they haven't had any semblance of a ground game all season long, and with the way New England crams the line of scrimmage, it probably wouldn't work to send Rashad Jennings into the pile 20 times in this NFL game.

Live bettors are going to live and die with Eli. To his credit, he has 2,339 yards and 19 TDs in just nine games this season, and he's turning into a reliable pivot again, but if he starts getting turnover happy as he got last week against Tampa Bay with his two picks, there could be problems. The Patriots cash in turnovers in a big time way, and this game will get out of hand if New York turns it over more than once, something which can and will come back and kill live bettors.
