NFL Odds - Rams Odds To Win Super Bowl 52

Rams-Odds-To-Win-Super-Bowl-bm

It was so difficult to watch the Los Angeles Rams play last season, management even had enough. The team relieved Jeff Fisher of his duties late in the season and turned to Sean McVay to help mold franchise quarterback Jared Goff. McVay, the youngest head coach in NFL history, coordinated the Redskins prolific offense and helped Kirk Cousins develop into a star. The Rams need more scoring if they are to contend for anything, but a Super Bowl title isn’t in the cards this year and that’s why they are ahead of only the Niners, Jets and Browns as a Super Bowl favorite.

Key Factors For Winning the Super Bowl

Goff is the Guy – McVay made it clear when he took over that Goff is the quarterback, and he went to work making sure the 2016 No. 1 overall pick is ready. McVay has an impressive resume, despite being just 31 and nine years older than his quarterback. He helped the Redskins to the third best offense in terms of yardage last season and was responsible for the development of Cousins, who threw for nearly 5,000 yards and was a Pro Bowl selection. McVay will have his work cut out for him in his new gig, however. By any metric, the Rams were the absolute worst offensively last year and Goff never had a chance. The line was a mess, there was no run game and the receiving corps lacked playmakers. Goff didn’t look good, but it wasn’t all his fault. The Rams upgraded the offense and now it’s time for Goff to show what he can do.

Don’t Be a Gurley Man – The Rams drafted Gurley with the 10th overall pick in 2015, taking a chance on a player who sustained a torn ACL the previous year at Georgia. He missed the first three games of his rookie season, but when he got going he was an absolute load. He ran for over 100 yards in his first three starts and compiled 1,106 with 10 touchdowns in 13 games to earn Offensive Rookie of the Year. Last season was forgettable, though. Gurley didn’t have a 100-yard game and totaled just 885 on 278 carries. That averaged out to only 3.2 yards per carry. The Rams need Gurley to establish the run game, which averaged just 78.3 yards per game last season. That wasn’t the biggest problem, however. L.A.’s offense was over 35 yards per game worse than 31st ranked San Francisco. You can’t win without scoring and the Rams failed miserably to move the ball and put points on the board. Any improvement in that area will make the coaching staff pleased.

Take Advantage of Early Schedule – You never know how the schedule is going to work out from season to season, but the Rams have a nice setup this year, especially at the beginning of the campaign. They open with two straight home games, taking on the Colts in the opener. We’re not sure if Andrew Luck is going to be ready and that’ll give the Rams a big advantage. Taking on McVay’s former team Washington in Week 2 is also a winnable game. Week 3 has the Rams heading to Northern California to tangle with the 49ers. The Rams dropped both games last year and were the only team to lose to the Niners, so there will be some added motivation. It’s conceivable the Rams could open the year 3-0 and with some confidence that the system is working, the Rams could be a problem for other teams during the remainder of the year.
